Have any of you Forkers find any good schooling last fall? I really like fishing for them but it's not like the old days. Whens the last time you really saw a school of 5lbers kicking it up?

I have had some serious schooling around us the last 3-weeks. They were not up long but the schools covered a pretty large area.
It looked like small fish (unders) would appear busting shad first then go down, 4-5 mins later the bigger fish would come up maybe 50-60 yards from where the small fish were..

Every now and then 6 to 10 BIG 6+lb fish would come up and you knew they meant business buy the spoils they made.

But nothing like it was in the good ol days, I'll never forget seeing 5-7 lb fish cover an acre + area and stay up for 20-30 mins at a time.
They might do that 4 to 5 times in the same area too.. WOW,that was some fun. Fork is the only place I've ever seen those big fish school like that.
The last time I remember seeing that was in 1999 before the lmbv struck.
But, it's looking good for the future....

I've been meaning to ask y'all, did I just say that, something. Caught two slots at fork that would have been nice 2o inch fish but they had their bellies all sunken in and looked pretty sick and down right nasty. Partner netted em but would'nt touch em. Joked that yankees can only catch all the dumb fish in the lake. They definitely weren't post spawn fish but were scarred and marked up pretty bad. Anyone else notice this.

They may have some plastic in their stomach and this will eventually kill them. Basically, die of starvation.

NaBB it ain't the boat that catches the fish its the guyz in it. Save your money, lets just pimp out the grumman and stop sucking.

If you go to the Media site and look at the fish many of them have sore's or rash looking spots on them. It's rather common this time of year. I used to know what it was called but I can't remember, it has a lot to do with the higher water temps that cause bacteria to grow faster..

I always thought that the rash is from the carpet on the boat from a previous catch?

Billy you can't remember because you gettin old.

There has been lots of schoolies around main lake points.....this last media was won on schoolies. They came up and they boated around 15-20 all perfect size. Some guys just have the luck.

If you can't find any on main lake just look for Billy and Kay and thay probably got em schooling in their livewell no doubt.

No for real they are out there just got to hit at the right time.
