My cousin Stephanie & her family are staying at my place and Bigun with his wife (another of my cousins) & kids, along with his sister, and mom & dad are all staying at the Scenic 515 Cabins till Friday morning. They are not allowed back into their Parish (county) until Friday morning.

Yesterday we all met up at the cabins for some some fried fish and fellowship. I carried my fryers and 7 pounds of fish over there. I got to spend the afternoon with a lot of my family and only had to drive just over an hour... :-)

The current reports that they are getting from friends who stayed in Houma is that their houses suffered minimal damage (shingles, turbins, etc...) No word on the rest of my family's places throughout the Parish -- I hope to hear later tonight about the rest.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

There is nothing worse than being stuck on Lake Fork with no boat other than having to rely on a Texan to supply fish to fry! :-) Thanks for the thoughts guys and sounds like lots of damage around from fallen trees and poles but my house survived.

Glad to hear your house is in good shape!!!!

If I had known you were at Fork sooner, I would have brought the boat out. We could have beat the wind in a lot of places.
Thanking the Lord, all day long

Glad to hear everyone is safe. A few of my family from Lake Charles and Morgan City had a close call, They evacuated to my mom's in Duncanville and she got fed up after day three and came close to killing them all:-)

Thanks. I'm back in Lafayette, la right now. They are stating they will not let us back in to Houma until 6 am Friday right now but we are going to try to sneak in tomorrow. Wish us luck.

I would also like to thank Wes for stepping up and offering to house us all in Seguin. I was ready to go drink Beer with him and John but apparently all the stories of the porch adventures doomed my chances of going that way with the wife! :-) I would also like to thank Simek, Rob and Drake Shurley for continuing to check up with me and offering their assistance. Good bunch of guys is all I can say.

And thanks for the offer guys but I was just not in the mood for fishing really and had a lot of stressed out kids I had to stay with.

No worries Wade. You and the family always have a place to stay in Seguin if you need it.

Heard from Steph (cousin that stayed at my house) this morning and they made it home -- they live across the street from Bigun. She said their entire roof on the back side of the house will need to be re-shingled. Ripped off shingles from the gutter to the peak. They had a small amount of fence damage and other small damage. She said it was strange driving in because all the trees have been ripped of their leaves.

I pray that everyone can get their stuff taken care of and get back to some sense of normalcy soon. For those that have been thru storms before this is almost old hat, but the kids really don't understand it all and it is very scary to them. Such a dramatic change from their every-day routine and security is tuff to deal with.

Bigun, I hate that it was under those circumstances but I sure did enjoy spending time with everyone. Your mom & dad are among the finest people I have come across. Spending time with them is always a treat for me. It's no wonder you turned out as good as you did.
