Well I have to tell you guyz a first is about to happen tomorrow.....

I've been fishing competitively since I was 14-yrs old. Back in those days we fished some local tournaments on Lake Winnsboro, my brother and me
would get after'um in a 14' foot jon boat with a 7.5 horse Game fisher with a state of the art 12V Ted Williams trolling motor mounted on the front right side.

We knew all the old timers and they would let us join in with entry fee of course..
We won some money a few times, most times not..

Yesterday the thought came to me.. In some 36 yrs of fishing tournaments, I have never fished one solo.

I started to get a little nervous, what if I stink it up. Then I thought, this will be fun.
I've fished alone alot and enjoyed it, not any difference other than I'm paying an entry fee..
When did you, if you have? Fish solo the first time in competition ??

Never fished tournaments in yankee land fished for food so never fished a tourney solo. Besides - need my partners boat, hope he gets a bigger one cause I'm running out of room got too many rods now and every single bait/lure there is (except GB Honchos of course can't figure out how to rig em)

Just like a Senko, dead stick that lil sucker next the grass.
grn/pumpkin or watermelon/red

I have it on good authority that GB has a new 6"inch rattle snake coming out soon(that will be awesome) along with a new 10" inch worm..

I'm looking the geometry on a new swim bait today matter-a fact TOP SECRET stuff.
I'm the resident on staff engineer.

The future looks real good for Grande Bass to fill the needs of our anglers.. Jerry Shinn
is an active innovator in the lure industry. And like him.

I've fished many tournaments solo over the last several years. I enjoy the solo events but also enjoy the team events. I have come to the realization that fishing a team event solo is definately a dissadvantage. Over the last 2 years that Charles and I have entered tournaments together, maybe 2 times the fish we weighed in were caught by just one of us -- not including the one I had to fish alone.

So Billy, how'd it go?
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Took second BIG BASS, I had schoolers all around me until 10:00 am then it just died.

I had the typical bad time for defective Mono to show up..... I broke off three times before changing out rigs, I couldn't believe what was happening.

It was a new 1000 yd spool of 15-lb stren green.
That cost me a limit of fatties.
Fish were stacked in the flats and creek channels, big fish too.
You nailed it about the disadvantages of only fishing one stick in a Team event.
I needed to make some hay while the getting was good, if Kay had been with me there's no doubt we'd of had a 10+lb sack.

Other than beating up my boat and equipment going that far North, was worth the effort.

I also found out my tournament efficiency alone needs some work, in other words I could have, and should have done better.
The fish were there, I didn't catch them like I needed to.

We had schoolies all over also but lots of little fish. Our biggest fish for the day went 2.43.

I know the feeling about breaking off. My first fish of the day was on a bass bone and he broke off on the hookset -- I never retied after catching 4 fish on that bait the day before.

The bite for us pretty much died after 11:30 or so. Had a limit by 9:30am and could only upgrade 1 time.

Billy was probably totally freaked out because he had the other hand free most of the day.
When Kay is with him, he normally has to keep one hand on the net. Billy was setting the hook with two hands.

It's been a while since I looked for Tournament fish so I was working on past knowlege...I did get 5 for 6.48. I guess I'll need to work on this if I'm going to whip up on KBD...

It was cool to be back on Fork again after getting killed at BWS this year... I really need to figure the deep bite out...thats what really is hurts me. I see shallow grass and I can't stand it...I MUST PITCH THE GRASS>...MASTER :-)

I just got off the phone with the Sinker, He's gonna Break the mighty Thunder Stick out on all of us next year..
You'll be able to hear those hook sets from the back of Birch to the Minner Bucket.. KAAAA WOOOOOSH- another bass done gone..

I'll cut him some slack.. He did pretty good over all, anytime you make the top what ever the first year you were above average...
I bet he does do better next year, he was right
with us Zach for most part our weights were within hundredths of each other until the "APRIL"

Now Sink don't go and get the big head.. OOOPs to late for that.... hehehehehehe !!!
