Connie and I took a belated anniversary trip to Fredericksburg last weekend and had a great time in the Texas Hill Country. We dined on great German food, drank plenty of cold beer, and relaxed in the pleasant temperatures. It was refreshing to get away from it all and not worry about feeding the horses, making it to soccer games, working on the house, working on the barn, etc... Saturday we went to see the movie "Fireproof" and it was a great movie with a wonderful Christian message. Here are some pictures of the frontier cabin we stayed in: The resident mallard: The whitewing dove really liked the property: Saturday after the movie we took a ride down a highway that runs next to the Guadalupe river for miles and miles from Hunt, Texas and we turned around in the Kerr WMA driveway. I think it is a beautiful drive and Connie agreed. Stonehenge: A Nice Axis off the side of the road: Sunday we woke up and took a walk down the creek that runs next to the cabin. They told us there was a waterfall and deep hole that we could get to so we set off with camera in hand. We found the small waterfall and there was a deep hole loaded with fish -- bass, catfish, and perch. The bass ranged from 6" to maybe 14". The catfish were mostly 8 - 10 inches, and the perch ranged in size also. We finished off our trip with another walk down main street of Fredericksburg and did some shopping. We enjoyed brunch on the patio of a nice place called Silver Creek which had a guy pickin his guitar singing Hill Country music. She had one more Reuben sandwich with a German beer while I enjoyed Ribeye & Fried Eggs w/ a few cold Miller Lites to wash it down. It was a great trip and I look forward to making another trip down there with my wife. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
