Congrats Tommy and Chuck..... You Boyz are DE-BOMB... Good too see Shawn and Tommy and the OZ man even if was just briefly.. My time was very limited due to some personal reasons.. I had to get back home quickly.. I wouldn't say the fishing was tough for me, I couldn't get the right size fish. Buzzbait was a bust as was the Frog bite. RatlTraps and Bandit footloose crankbaits was the ticket until 9:30-10:00 pm then it was the Dropshot.. I had a lot of fun fish the IBC... Learning how to compete Solo is different no doubt, net management and how to arrange the boat correctly when fishing along is something I'm learning. This was only the second time I've fished Solo in a tournament. I think I'm getting better, I caught twice as many weigher's this time compared to the last tournament.. Did any Overs come ???? Thanks for the congrats guys. When Chuck hooked the 2.76, he thought it was a slot and just swung it in the boat. I said you need to measure that fish. He did I it was a 15 and 15/16ths. $864. He had another one that went 2.34 and I believe his 4 fish total was 7.44. That was not far out of the money there. We were trying to get him another fish at the end and I was trying to upgrade a dinker. Chuck also lost a good keeper fish at the boat on the buzzbait in the morning that probably would have put him in 2nd place for stringer. We were also fishing the Irving Club Tourney and forgot that the weigh in for the club was at 4:00 and not 4:30 like the open. I think they do that so the IBC members can get in so they can work the open. The thought never crossed our minds until Betty from IBC told us that we were late for the club weigh in. Chuck would have picked up another check for big bass for the club. Hindsight tells me that we did the right thing by trying to upgrade the stringers in the open. My stringer went 8.56 for $350 and IBC paid 16 places and 3 places for big bass. We had agreed on a split of any checks which is what I like to do even in individual events when you fish two out of the boat. I only had one cull and caught a lot of super dinks on drop shot. We had 2 over 5 lbs and at least a couple of other slots. I am planning on fishing the JC Outdoors this Saturday so all I will say is that we caught keepers on buzzbaits, traps, flukes and brush hogs. We got to weigh in at 4:20 and there were only about 10 folks ahead of us. IBC did another terrific job with their 61st open tourney. They got it down! They have a lot of dedicated members that put a lot of time in to pull these tourneys off. 250+ entries I believe. Oz did a great job on MC as usual and Shawn makes a super TD though he is not as nearly good looking as the Oz man.
