I don't think your going to need any help Mike. All the places you normally fish should have fish there. I would have Jessica fish to her strengths. Last JCO, 36 out of 38 had limits. I would have to say that they are biting, period. Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc

I'll be quite content if Jessica catches a few for the bag. I keep going over in my head how this is a waste of money to fish this tournament since I have not been on the lake since the TASF event in September. But, I guess if we are going to be fishing we might as well be in the tournament. On Fork you never know when luck might just play a role in victory. I can tell you right now, the number 1 goal is 5 unders as early as possible then we are just "goin fishin" for the rest of the day in order to put a plan together for Sunday. My mouth is already watering thinking about a beef fajita chimmichanga... woooooooo weeeeeee that's good stuff!!!!!! The reason I wonder is because first flight will be taking off around 6:15 - 6:30 so I was unsure if he would be moving check in times up as well. Don't get me wrong, I am quite content to get the extra fishing time.... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I think you can play with the two day format in the spring when everyone is out there all weekend anyways. If it were a 1-day this past weekend, I bet they would have had 40 boats. I don't know where we finished up, but it was not in the money. Mark will probably have the complete results posted later in the week. Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc

The competition was strong.. Think about this..... Not many donaters at 300.00 bucks for an entry fee. The majority of teams were good anglers first off; by the number of 9+lbs sacks, that was obvious. We love the 2-day 5-fish string format, consistency is the name of the game. It's hard to do a back to back 9-10 lb sack.. If you haven't tried it, believe me it is hard to do. The bite was on, Kay and I caught 50+ fish each day. That is a modest estimate too, the fish we caught were all out on main lake points moving out to deep water. We rarely left site of the minner bucket both days. Our plan was to catch the bass as they positioned out on the points prior to the massive arrival of Crappie and Bar fish.. The Bass do that every year around this time, we knew it and used that to our advantage. We had a 9+lb average for both days, but that wasn't good enough for the anglers in this event.. I hate to lose by mere ounces, but that's the way it goes sometimes. *The winners were on some awesome fish they blew everyone out of the water with 22+lbs for 2-days.. Congrats to them, job well done.* It was a lot of fun, the fellowship among the competitors was most enjoyable, we were proud to be a part of it.. Mark worked is buns off for this event, I wish better luck on the turn-out for the next one. If you like Fork, now would be a good time to go before it gets really cold. The fish were definitely chewing and the bite was own guys, however it was better before 11:00 am after that it slowed down some what. I'll gladly tell any of you where we were and what you need to do go catch some if you want it.. NO more competition for Kay and I until 2009, just fun fishing.. Having not been on the lake for over a month and not being familiar with seasonal patterns was a real killer for Jessica & I. Hindsight is always 20/20 and thinking back there are some things I would have done different but it is too late now. Saturday was brutal for us. I picked up a scattered fish here and there for the first several hours -- 3 fish, 3 different areas, 3 different baits, 3 different types of structure. I was struggling and finally caught another keeper on a dock with yet another type of bait. So I started working a dock line and picked up one more keeper 4 docks later on the same bait. Thinking that maybe I finally stumbled on a pattern I stuck with the docks to no avail. Unfortunately, fishing docks is hard for a 12 yr old from the back of the boat so I decided we needed more open water where she was free to cast. Never worked out even though there were fish chasing shad all around us. No matter what we threw around them they would not take it. Sunday called for a complete change of scenery so we went the other direction on the lake. Within the first 10 minutes we had our first keeper in the boat on a bass bone. That area produced 6 bites in less than 30 minutes with Jessica loosing hers at the boat, 2 being keepers, 2 slots, and a missed fish. I tried to duplicate that scenario in different places and it only panned out with a few more slot fish and one more keeper. I changed things up, tried deep bridges, road beds, points, etc... All it yielded was a couple more slot fish and some more missed fish. Sunday was definately better for us but our 3 keepers only weighed just shy of 4 pounds so we tossed them and came in for the day. Those who know me well can only imagine my frustration throughout the day with the lack of success and toss on top of that Jessica's frustrations. Jessica and I had our moments on the lake but we got thru each of them. She tried really hard to catch some fish but it just was not happening. Tommy... Thanks for opening my eyes Sunday at the ramp on what an accomplishment Jessica made by sticking out a 2 day tournament. I am truly proud of her for doing it with minimul complaining. Too often I am ignorant to the more important aspects of life and you helped me see that -- Thank you! A huge thanks to JC Outdoors for the gifts he rounded up for Jessica's birthday and for helping to make it a very special weekend for her. I cannot tell all of you who were around us this weekend how much I appreciate the way ya'll treated her. Thank you all!!! Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
