When I went to the doctor last week they took some X-Rays and made some observations. His initial diagnosis is Bursitus<sp?> and possible mild rotator cuff tear (20 - 30%). He wanted to give a cortizone shot and see how things went but I requested that we expedite the discovery because I needed to be back on the water fishing tournaments by February. It was at that point he suggested to skip the cortizone and move straight to the MRI. Hopefully the MRI will reveal the source of the pain and we can get this taken care of promptly. I realize I will need to be dilignet with my physical therapy but that is not a problem. I want to get better because that last tournament was extremely painful by the end of the day and I cannot take it. I'll keep ya'll posted and when my doctor tells me the results and the corrective action I will update everyone. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Good luck. For rehab you might have to come north and catch some of our little bass, those Fork fish will hurt you. Take care. |

Good luck Mike. Keep us updated on the injury. I've been having a lot of shoulder problems this year as well and should have probably went to the doctor a long time ago. There have been days throwing a spinnerbait where it feels like its about to fall off by the end of the day. It's also been hard pulling back my bow. I may get it looked at after hunting season. I fear as you the down time for letting it heal. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

Ya Big Wussy !!! Suck it up and press on. Hehehehehehehehee !! J/k----I saw how bad the pain was even while you were getting a check.. Ouch!! that's got hurt, good luck brother. I hope all is good, the shot is not a bad thing if you decide to take it. It will either kill or cure your season, that's the gamble you'll take. Our prayers are all for the good... My guess is, you'll have to make a serious decision--soon. I know you'll make the right one. (Message edited by Redskeeter on December 3, 2008) KBD Fishing

Thanks for the prayers and support ya'll, it is really appreciated. Tex, I could not draw my bow back right now if I had to -- yet one more reason to get it taken care of... In October I was able to draw my bow back but 2 or 3 shots was the max I could accomplish for practice. One of the deer I shot this year took a few attempts before getting the bow back to full draw. The MRI was a breeze, 30 minutes in a tube with a little country music on the headset. I have a followup appointment with my doctor on Tuesday to discuss what the test revealed and what the corrective action will be. I tried to look at the films produced by the MRI but I couldn't make anything out of it. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Dang, Wade, it looks like you had some fun on the water. I'd sure hate to be sitting on the couch nursing a sore shoulder when you're pulling in the specs like that. |
