I'm looking at purchasing a camcorder and Man I tell ya I'm confused...There are so many out there it's unreal. Can anyone make a recommendation for me without breaking the bank...

I picked up a Sony TRV 460 a few years ago and it's served me well. It's outdated now (HI-8) :-( , But it has worked well for the last few years. It also took pretty good still pictures to boot.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Oz,

Just make list of the features you want and a list of features you require in a camcorder. Take them to someone knowlegable (like Wolfe) and you will be surprised how much that will narrow down your choices. You should end up with a more managable list.

Ozzie, Canon & Sony are going to be the better brands. I personally like the ones with some form of tape because you get more record time at higher resolution.

Some of the things to consider:
Zoom range
recoding time
resolution
wide screen or not
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Check for battery life. Might even want to buy an extra battery or two, especially if this is for your Mexico trip. If memory serves me right, Mexicos electrical plugs are different than ours.
