Great forum!!! I was a bay fisherman living out of Houston for the last 30 years but recently moved to central Texas. I had to adjust my tactics if I still wanted to be on the water.

To my surprise I discovered a great collection of river, lakes and streams just chock full of bass, catfish and trout. Check out the pictures at http://www.troutpad.com.

I still love the gulf but I will post tips for those either in, or traveling to, central Texas.

You gulf bums can't have all the fun!

Welcome to the ramp Troutbum... I have not done much fishing for rainbows here in Texas but if you are in Central Tx then I would imagine you have some options.

Looking forward to hearing about the fishing down there. Unfortunately, the only things I do in that part of Texas is drive thru it... Hope to make a trip with Wes to do some fishing on Lake Austin this year.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I went up to Beavers Bend in Oklahoma last year. The first time I have fished for trout and loved it. I caught 60+ the first day I was there .

Actually, I look better beating the banks of the Little Red and White River in Arkansas with #7 countdown Rapala's.
Man, I miss those days.

Thats really what started my bass fishing. I've caught some monster Browns out of the Red though.
Normally do a trip a year there with my dad.

Yeah after being married for quite awhile started catching myself looking at my watch more when I was fishing or hunting - so I could be home "on time". Was told to be home at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on opening day of deer season once. Wasn't very happy doing that so I fdecided I had to quit

being married and I stayed at deer camp for the whole week.
