Is there anyone here that uses this stuff? I tried some Florocarbon last year and was unhappy with the way it tied a not. Therefore I haven't given it a second thought. I have a friend that just put some of the P-line on his reals, and he says it's good stuff?

So what do most of you use? Am I doing right sticking to my old school of Mono?
Or am I missing out by not trying a different brand of Floro?
Thanks
Shaun

Fluoro takes some getting used to. I use InvizX and Berkley 100%

The knot is important. Most folks use a palomar. I use the San Diego Jam knot because I think there is less friction when tightening the knot.

Fluoro has less stretch than mono and will break on the hookset easier if I over amp the hookset.

I need to make sure that I use a rod that is appropriate with the size fluoro that I am using. I can snap the fluoro on the hookset with a rod that is too stiff, but it takes a glove on the hand to break the stuff when hung up.

It has taken me a year of using fluoro to really start getting a good feel for it as it relates to all the different equipment and applications I use.

Bottom line for me is using the SDJ knot, and having the right rod stiffness as it relates to the size of fluoro being used.

I watched Oz tie the braid to fluoro leader once as HHO8 mentions above. I did not look real easy, for him....
I am thinking about giving it a whirl one of these evenings when I have some patience and an extra hour or two to work on it.

Are you guys using anything other than the double-uni to tie the fluoro to the braid?

I just read this tidbit somewhere else. I had seen this before and never thought to check out what my Palomar looks like before tightening. I think that sometimes I do step 4 and sometimes not.
