My guess is,---- the weights won't be as good as last year... The colder water temps the last month have put the hurt on the shallow fish.

LOW 10's
Unless, some lucky sap-sucker gets an over-(ME) LOL....

The weather looks steady over the next week. I would say that there are going to be some overs weighed in. If the wind is reasonable next weekend there should be 100 boats. 84 last year for the opener.
I am going to guess 14 lbs.

8.7 will be the cut off. In the upper 10's will win without an over.
The fish being caught are toads.

PS- Im daring you guys to wear your shirts to weigh-in!

It will take 11+ to win this weekend with or without an over. I agree with Sinkey that the cut will be just under 9 pounds.

The fish are more than ready to move and by the weekend it will happen. The bite will be on and the only problem will be keeping the slot fish off the hook... :-)

I think the winning sack was 11.7+ or 11.9 (all unders) they also had big fish was 2.97 I believe.

Ozzie and I weighed in 9.26 which was just under the cut for a check at 9.48.

Congrats to TomC & Chuch for their 10+ bag and Billy & Kay for their check. I don't think any other FTN'ers were in the money.

I am whooped....

I got some good ole fashion net-time yesterday. I know my place, find some fish, run the trolling motor and have the net ready. Chuck did a great job getting every fish to the net. He was flat out on-fire yesterday.

Congrats to Billy and Kay on the cash. Those were some nice shirts. Great to see them get the AOY awards. They represent our sport well.

Good job by Gahagan and Jones getting out of the gate with a limit.

First off, I'd I like to say it was great to see so many FTN guys on a freak'n ""deceivingly"" cold morning--- I like ta froze my down south Tx Azz off. I flat out didn't dress correctly..

**(Yank I'm pizzed, you didn't come over for at least a screw you or sump'm.... Dang. LOL....)**

We were very happy to catch what we did, as Charles said, it was a slug feast.
Kay and I fought for every fish we caught, we fished 6-7 different spots. That's what you do (us at least) to find some good'uns in post frontal condition when you got nut'n going in..

Congrats to Tommy-C and Sir Chuck of catches a lot***great job !!!!.

PQ and the OZ man**outstanding--thumbs up, guys you deserve it--very well done.

Stinker and Zaches teams did good too, everyone is still in it. One down, 5-ta go

Again,I'm very proud of everyone.
It's gonna get good later....
Remember---- don't stumble--stay steady, and you'll be OK...

Thanks Billy. It was good to finally get to meet you. Like yourself and Kay, Tom and I worked for every bite. I can't remember how many different spots we hit, but it was more than just a couple. Don't let Tom fool you into believing I did all of the work. Someone had to man the net.....LOL. All kidding aside, this was my first Media Bass event and I had a great time. Hopefully we will see yall at the next one if not somewhere out on the lake before. Don't feel left out Sinkey!!! It was nice to meet you too.

Tom C thanks man. We got lucky and got into a bunch of fish early. Alot of limits were had congrats to everyone. Same here with us I got to net and dig the fish out of the live well. Don was on fire for the first two hours in the morning he caught every fish we weighed. We were cullin by 9:30 then they shut down or moved out and we couldn't get on em again. Billy don't be pizzed at us man we intended on stayin. Anyway apologize for splittin, kept looking for Don after the fish got weighed but he never came up from the docks, turns out he had to stay with the boat cause there weren't no tie offs left anywhere on the dock- by the time we got trailered looked like everyone was leavin.

Oz, you were a great net man... :-) I proved that I need to training on the net front myself with the one fish -- 4 scoops and finally he was in the boat... lmao...........

Great to see everyone again, I'm still beating myself up over the "WHAT IF's" on this tournament. I lost a very big fish first off in the morning, missed probably 10 fish, and lost 5 or 6 others that either hung me up or just came unbuttoned. Needless to say, I feel like I failed to execute on Saturday. Hindsight I know what I could have done to improve my hookups but never thought about it during the tournament.

I know there is nothing I can do to change what happened, I just need to learn from my mistakes and improve the next time.

Ours shutdown also about 10:00 or so, but we managed 3 culls and one fish that we weighed at 8.4 in the afternoon. The bites were just fewer later in the day for us.
Chuck also had a 6 and a 7. I had one other one that was about 6.

Our morning bite was never that good to start with but the second stop was consistent bites all the way up until we left to come to weigh in. The higher the sun rose the more bites we got.
