Awe ite whats the rule, can someone tell me the proper way to measure a fish close to 16. We had a nice chunk I wanted to keep that was just under 16 if you left the tail flat, but just over if you sqeezed the tail together and moved it back and forth. After alot of f bombin from me, DJ made me throw it back in the fn lake.

The correct measure is to pinch (squeeze) the tail and swipe it. You did the right thing by throwing that fish back. I have had to toss many of them back that are that close. It is not worth the DQ and possible ticket.

Here is a link to what TPWD says: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/annual/fish/tag_measure_release/index.phtml#two
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
