Went today with Ron from my club. We ended up with 9 fish on jiggings spoons and stick baits.
Biggest fish was this 4lb 6oz smallmouth. I caught her on a spoon in about 20' of water.

I also took a picture of the only other smallmouth caught today.

sm2

Not bad for Feb. with water temps in the mid to upper 40's.

It's been some time since I have dished out a "Royal Bohemian" award and those pics are as good as any to get one... Congrats on some great looking fish (too bad we can't say the same for the angler.... hehehehe.....)

Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

The big one came between perots and eisenhower. Most of the other fish were in the marina. I like fishing anywhere between grandpappy and the dam for smallmouths. This time of year the shad dictate where we usually fish. I don't know how much longer the spoon bite will work. I suspect it will be done in a few more weeks.
