Went today with Ron from my club. We ended up with 9 fish on jiggings spoons and stick baits. Biggest fish was this 4lb 6oz smallmouth. I caught her on a spoon in about 20' of water. I also took a picture of the only other smallmouth caught today. Not bad for Feb. with water temps in the mid to upper 40's. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

The big one came between perots and eisenhower. Most of the other fish were in the marina. I like fishing anywhere between grandpappy and the dam for smallmouths. This time of year the shad dictate where we usually fish. I don't know how much longer the spoon bite will work. I suspect it will be done in a few more weeks.
