Wish I could help Yank but I have not been on TB since 1990... It was March and we were wearing out the fish on soft plastics in the grass fished Texas Rigged. The interviews I did the last couple of years of winning anglers for BassZone revealed that red traps and red-shad worms were the dominating baits with black/blue jigs pitched to timber being the next in line. I would encourage you to take several traps with you so you can break them off if your boater gives you trouble with going back to get them. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Thanks for the info PQ, my new fav traps are eight bucks. In typical WNY style I'll ask politely the first couple times, but I'm afraid the closer I get to being down to my last one that Irish Yank will come out and we will eventually be going back to get em or he'll be fricken eatin the wide variety of the different colored traps I aint using. |

Heard the Hag Tornado was the ticket right now Might be to early in the year but years ago me and several buddies would go down TB for a four or five days. One of the guys drank waaaaaaaaaay to much one night. The next morning he sat in the back of the boat and threw a purple trick worm wacky style. After he casted he would set the rod down on the deck and let the draft of the boat drag it. He flat out caught some fish. |

I'm working on training these fish to eat gobies, tubes, and crabs not craws their crabs. My coonass partner still don't understand that crabs is craws to frozen tundra boys. |

In western NY crabs is craws cause their aint no other - watch out big word comin - crustaceans. You either got em in your pants or ya put em on a hook thats it. The smallies go nuts for soft shelled crabs. |
