About a month ago I started a thread asking someone to recommend a guide because I have never fished on Fork before. Rick Carter was the front runner by you guys. This past weekend we went out with him. The first thing that he told me was because the weather had taken a turn for the worse that we would go out and see how it would be and if he felt that it was not going to be a good day for fishing, I beleive that his words were " I have been doing this way to long to just take your money, I want it to be a great time so if it's not I will set up another time and you pay me when you come back...."

He stood by his word and even though took us right to a cove that had a lot of fish on the beds, but they just were not biting because of the weather.

We did see Red Skeeter in the same area and they caught two fish in the same spot. We had bites from 4 or 5 fish and caught one that weighed between 3.5 and 4 lbs...and definitely saw some hogs swimming around.

I say thanks to all of you guys and I would hands down recommend Rick to any and everyone that is looking for a guide. I can't wait to get back out there at the end of March, maybe it will be warmer and no wind. Thanks again.

Trapper

Ps My wife set this trip up for me and she picked a winner.

I'll be dog-gone, that was you guys?? I thought it was Caldemeyer back there on those bed fish.
Big Ranger boat and all, everyone was so bundled up because of the wind and cold it was hard to be sure who was who..

We did OK back there with 5-unders for 10.13, I had two fish i needed to cull, but it never happened.
It was at least tolerable tucked in out of the wind back there .. HUH !!!

I agree with everything Trapper said about Rick. We had a great time despite the conditions. Learned a little bit too!

Diddy, Rick has always been a class act. I met him at a benefit fund raiser for a young angler with brain cancer. We have been friends ever since and Wes and I have fished with him a few times. All of my experiences with him have been nothing but positive. It does not suprise me what you typed.

I look forward to hearing the results of your next trip. Just remember that the Media Bass Super Teams is at the end of the month so you are only allowed to give details of where you caught all of your fish to me or Wes... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Picou,
First of all thanks again. And as far as any information on where all the big fish are located..... This will cost a trip with you and Wes for another fishing trip to Fork, or maybe even a tourny.. HAHA
I'll update you and be looking forward to planning our fishing trip.

Billy... I already know where you were!

Besides, you know my radar shifts southward that late in the month -- especially with the warm water so early.

Diddy... You sure you want to subject your self to a day on the water with me & Wes??? That typically constitutes more empty cans than boated fish... :-)
