Any of yall started catching the spawn yet? We have been fishing a small lake South of Baird this week and everyday is better than the day before. Between me and my cousin we have cleaned 42 crappie and 4 bass over 6# this week. Bite all seems to happen after 5:30 in the evening on chartreuse and red tube jigs. We tried Brownwood on Wednesday but not much happening there yet. | ||||||||||||

I have heard that they are starting to move shallow so it should be all on here for the next couple of weeks. Maybe that is what I will take the kids fishing for this weekend instead of chasing those green perch...   Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I don't know what a black bass taste like. I ain't ever ate one . However if I knew we were going to catch a limit of huge crappie slabs like we did, I would have stuck them in the live well and tended to them later.
