Yea,Yea,Yea....I know this is a fishing forum. But I just got my largest bow harvest to date back from the taxidermist a couple minutes ago. He's not a monster by any means. Thanks everyone. I've been bow hunting for some 16yrs now. This size deer has been a goal for a long,long time. I almost didn't gett him. I climbed up in to the tree and pulled my release from my pocket. When I did, a piece of paper (with my scent) fell to the ground. Well I didn't climb down to pick it up. When this deer came in he walked right by my tree I was sitting in 25feet up. He walked straight to the base of the tree and stuck his nose right on the piece of paper I had dropped. He raised his head slowly looking straight up the tree at me. I couldn't breath!!!! I could swallow, I couldn't do anything but watch him bolt away for about 25yrds. Then he stopped,put his nose back to the ground and got on the trail of the Tinks 69 I had put down earlier that morning.In about 10seconds later he gave me a 25yrd broadside shot. He piled up in about 60 yds . I was very thankful for many reasons. Great memories for sure. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13 |
