Well, it was bound to happen eventually and unfortunately it happened after all of the rationing of crap I gave Sinkey about his finish last year....

Ozzie and I set out with high expectations of a good tournament limit and it never materialized. We, as with most on the lake, were run off around 9:30 because of the lightning and heavy rains. We got back on the lake during a calm period just to find ourselves tucked up on the shore as the lightning crashed around us until finally we could make our way across the cove to a boat house. Not sure how long that lasted but I know that by noon we had caught fish but they were all slot fish. The pressure weighed on me pretty heavy for the next 2 hours and I second guessed everything we either were doing or discussing going to do.

With 1 hour left we went to a spot that usually produces plenty of dinks and we could not even put some popcorn keepers in the boat. It was truly humbling to check in to an April tournament with no fish in the box. Since Ozzie's wife was fishing the IBC by herself we opted to load up so Oz could go be with her.

I, feeling very dejected, launched my boat and set out for some redemption and pre-fishing for next weekend's Bass Champs tournament. Of course, I caught 8 fish all between 14.5 to 16 inches -- figures....

We believe that one of the biggest contributors to our lack of keepers may have been a failure to execute. I can account for at least 6 bites that we never got to the boat -- came off or broke off. There were others that we think were bites but the hookset yielded nothing. The fish we never got to the boat may have been slots but we will never know.

So bring on the ribbin and harrassment -- I deserve it after the lashing I dished out to Sinkey.... :-) I can't change how we finished and now it is time to move towards the next event and let this finish drive us to redemption.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Steve and I had it rough out there also. He did catch a 9+ that was a bit short. He tried to get it to measure but was about 1/4 short. It was a gorgeous fish. We did catch a few keepers late in the day. Too little too late for us. We gave it all we had.

We got completely obliterated by the hail. Steve held a life vest over his head and had knots on his fingers from the large marble size hail. There was no place for me to hide in that single console boat. I took the beating on my back, neck and back of my head. We had 1/2 inch or so of hail in the boat along with clumps of leaves and what not that blew in the boat. The boat was completely trashed with hail and tree trash. We were in the back of a small creek and water started gushing out the creek and then after it gushed, it started sucking us back up in the creek. That was a weird feeling. My vest inflated on me. Had that thing for a year and that was the first time ever inflated. No major injuries or busted stuff on the boat, thank God.

I was pretty beat up and whiny after that one. Nothing like a good fish and hail beating. Slept 12 hours straight last night. That tourney is one I would like to forget but never will.

Not sure how everyone else did but congrats to Chris on putting together a nice limit by himself.

PQ... I think this event may set you up for a great finish in Champs.. Determination is a great commodity.

I finally got too meet Rick (yankee) That was nice..
We all had a rough go with the weather, it seemed everyone was wore out and ready to get home..

The morning of take off was absolutely beautiful,
we thought **OK** finally a decent day.. None of us knew what was in store for us..

Kay and I spent over 3-1/2 hrs under the pavilion at the minnow bucket while the hail, rain, and lightening passed.. There were some tense moments
during the storms.
This year has been one plagued with bad weather and fish coming unbuttoned in competition. I try
not to lose focus but it's getting a lil much..

I'm happy no one was injured badly during the hailstorm, or struck by lightening..

Count your blessings if you stayed out in that mess, you may not be so lucky next time...

Man that was spooky we saw it comin and thought we could make it to our second spot when it hit ouch ouch !#$@%& m #$%@. Ran in to Wolf like Don said and a nice older gentleman told us a second one was comin on the radar, good thing cause that one would of probably got us too. Been caught on Ontario more than a few times and ya just have to sit there like a lightning rod nothin but water as far as ya can see. The man told us it would be ok to tuck under a boat house so we did. What did I learn? - a coonass and a yankee redneck aint the brightest combination. We had four fish 16 and a 1/@#$# before the storm then had a tough time keepin the dinks buttoned. Nice to meet ya Billy. Glad ya didn't poop yourself like Sinkey did when he shook my hand.

I hear ya' Billy, it has been tuff...

When we went to a spot that we were positive it would put some keepers in the boat and it only yielded 2 slots then moved to my "honey hole" and it was trashed from the winds Friday I basically lost all confidence. I gave up at that point mentally and came to terms with weighing in ZERO. Then when Ozzie broke that fish off in the last 15 minutes we couldn't do anything but laugh.

I felt bad not coming to weigh in but I also really enjoyed the evening on the lake catching fish with very little boat pressure at all.

Oh no I can't wait for Sinkey to get in on this........

We were in the jungle when the hell hit and Jason and I huddled like two, you know what under a slide of a swingset that was on the bank. No boat docks, houses, or anything like that, just a slide......it sucked for about 2 hours.

When we pulled up on the bank the hell shredded the tree we were parked under and destroyed the ol Skeet, it looked like one of those carmax commercials for a boat, where if you saw it at that time you would never ever buy the boat used.

We lucked out and put it on em before mother nature unleashed hell on us. Hope our fish hold up next week for champs.

Picou I feel your pain I think I had a bad day once and blanked, but it was like in 1984 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahah ahahhhahaha
You knew it was coming so I figured I would pour it on thick.

SKUNK...... wow April is good month??????????

I already have my "April Picou" shirts made!

It is a plain Hanes t-shirt with "nothing on it!"

Maybe Ozz should have clacked his heals together harder and said "theres no place like home, theres no place like home."

Looks like that Yellow brick road didnt go far on Saturday!

As far as you go Zeeter, you just wait, Summer is almost here, and Ive started my climb up the ladder!

Hey Wes, can you get some Skunk traps down there where you live. I think there is one on Fork that needs to be caught!
