In my lifetime i've seen two players more skilled than gretsky. Gilbert (Bert) Perreault and Ovechkin. Alexander the great is bigger faster stronger and has a rocket quick shot. Problem now is the talent is spread to thin and with the businees side of hockey he will never a have a team of franchise players surrounding him like Gretz had in Edmonton.

Hunter Gretzkey said it - no one will break my records cause there will never be a team like that again. I wasn't the fastest strongest biggest or the best I was playing my role on what was probably the best hockey team ever put together.

Word is this kid is the next one now..

John Tavares (born September 20, 1990 in Mississauga, Ontario) is a Canadian major junior ice hockey centre currently playing for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Tavares broke into the OHL after gaining "exceptional player" status at the age of 14, allowing the Oshawa Generals to select him in the OHL Priority Draft as an underage player in 2005. Tavares was named the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Rookie of the Year in 2006 and CHL Player of the Year in 2007, a year in which he broke Wayne Gretzky's OHL record for goals in a season by a 16-year old with 72. In 2009, he set a new OHL record for career goals as he finished the season with 215, two more than former record holder Peter Lee.

He is eligible for the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and is currently ranked as the top prospect in the draft by both National Hockey League (NHL) Central Scouting and International Scouting Services.

Shoot Yank......

Me, Sink, Billy, Kay, Eric, and Picou could probably crush the A&M hockey team.

Real men leave the ice for hot Japanese chicks to do some bad A$$ stuff in little short skirts.... even hardcore yankees know this.

Yank - Youre killing me. Gretzky a role player, LMFAOOL. That's like saying Pete Rose couldn't hit or Emmitt Smith was a good blocker.

I think the Stars Stanley Cup winning team was the best team ever, they just completed the goal one time but those series with the Avelanch in the Western Conference sure were fun to watch. What is soft ice anyway.....

And your right Sinkey would keep putting peolple in the injured reserve by breaking everyone's hands with his face...........

Hey man Hunter Gretz said that not me. Soft ice is slow and wetter lots of snow develops and slows the puck down and your skates dig into it and it well sucks cause your legs get weak quick. And all I have to say about the stars is
