It was a great day to be on Fork as long as you got off the lake by 3:30pm. We had 32 teams join us today for a beautiful day with lots of cloud cover and moderate winds. The lake is in great shape and as you can tell from the weights and number of limits the fishing continues to best we have seen in our 3 seasons of hosting these events. The big fish was a 8.47 weighed by the first place winning team of Greg Callow and Jim Reaneau, they brought her to the scales shortly after 2pm as they were having some livewell issues and felt it necessary to make the 9 mile run in order to try and save the fish. It was the right thing to do because after we weighed her I placed her in the minnow vat at the The Minnow Bucket. She was weak and rolling up on her side when placed in the vat but at 5pm when Diane and I pulled away she was swimming all over the tank and was ready to go home. Good Call Guys, she got to ride out the storm in a vat full of shiners of which I am sure she tasted her share. Second place went to the team of Eric Wright and Robert Feagin who continue to have a great season. We had three junior anglers who joined their dads today, we love seeing those younguns, thanks dads for sharing your day with these youngsters. It will pay big dividends in the future. Thanks to all of the anglers who joined us and we look forward to seeing you all at one of our next events. Corey and I had a great time Mark... When we left the house an hour+ later than planned because I over slept I told Corey, "we are going to be late and there is nothing we can do to change that. Let's just make the best of it and have a good time." We caught plenty of fish all day and mixed in there was a beautiful 6-15 sow that was fat and full of eggs. Corey netted her and then could not lift the net into the boat. It was quite entertaining... We only lost 2 fish for the day -- Corey had one come unbuttoned and I broke one off on the hookset. We caught most of our fish working the grass but later in the day we did some sight fishing and I ended up wasting too much time on a fish that I thought would be a great keeper but turned out to be 16 1/4" long. All said and done, we had a great time, caught plenty of fish, and the weather cooperated quite nicely. Thanks for the Jr. Angler goodie bag Mark. Corey really appreciated it. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
