Ohhhhh wweeeeeeeee That's some good eating right there. Hang it let bleed out and cut the belley meat out........tastes just as good as crappie. Nice Fish bet the fight was good. We catch em all the time crappie fishing on our brushpiles, or should I say we hang them. Some are to big to get off the bottom or out of the brush. Catching Big Ole PIGS... That's a great catch Ozzie... Definately one of the bigger ones I have seen come off a bass lures. I've caught a bunch of catfish on cranks and some on lizards but also a few on topwaters. None have been over 10 pounds though. Caught this one in a private pond by the house on a Zara Pup several years ago. She weighed 8-02 and put up a great fight. The land owner insisted I keep her so we had fried catfish that night...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Dang----nice cat Oz. No recent pictures, however, the last two weekends Kay and I have both caught some beautiful channel cats on soft plastics. (not on purpose) Man, ya think--Finally a monster is tugg'n on your line in competition. It was a monster alright, the wrong kind of monster.. Ours have gone from 6 to 10 lbs. in 1-4 foot of water. Gramps use ta eat them bottom feedin mudsuckers like chicken wings. I would eat "bullheads" early spring after that just get a handful of mud and throw some hot sauce on it same stuff. |

Young channel cat is some of the best fried fish available. The deal is to clean it properly and that yella meat is super sweet in flavor with no oily fishy taste.... Man, I think it is time for me and the girls to make a run to T-Wok and catch some catfish. I might just have to go set out a line this weekend and run it with some live perch... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I caught a 10lb flat head on a 8" pumkin seed worm on Ray Roberts a few years ago. I wish I still had the picture. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13

Congrats! I've caught a few in the Guadalupe River that hit 5-8lbs. Texas rigged worm, double Colorado blade spinnerbait (bass fishing) and a small Roostertail spinner bait (panfishing). All worked slow and low. |
