I'm looking out the window at a flat surf that is starting to green up... Maybe the speckled trout and the spanish mackerel will move in and make for some real fun. It has been a slow week but productive enough to eat fish a few night so far. Now that our friends from home are here, we can have fried fish one more time and then crab stuffed flounder the next night. If all goes well we will be grilling some shark on the last night. I have caught a ton of shark pups and some whiting and sand trout with mixed in hardheads and gaftop catfish. Gigging has been slow but I have managed 4 flounder so we have enough to eat. I fished under a friend's canal house who has some green lights and managed a few nice speckled trout for the frying pan. Anyway, when our neighbors from home showed up yesterday the first thing we did was hit the surf with cut mullet and they immediately started catching fish. We caught large whiting, big sand trout, plenty of catfish, lots of shark pups, and then Eddie (neighbor) landed a 2.5 foot hammerhead (maybe shovel nose). We did experience 1 break off that was probably a good shark. They have never experienced the beach or any salt water for that matter. They are definately having a great time so far and that was the most import thing for me was to make sure they got a good experience. We are headed back out to do some more fishing here shortly. I'm sorry that I have not taken a bunch of pictures for ya'll but when in the surf it is hard to bring a camera with me. I did take some pictures of the girls and wife while crabbing but I think that is it. I will try and do better. Ya'll have a great 4th of July weekend and I will provide an update when I get home. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
