I did not take many pictures but we did have a great time down there. Most of my fishing was from the surf and I caught 1 really nice spanish mackerel, several great speckled trout, sand trout, whiting, pup sharks, gaftop cats, and of course hardheads. I waded in the bay one time and caught these two keepers: We only went down to Oyster Creek one time for crabbing and it was not very good. I think we ended up with 4 keepers and they were all between 5.5 - 6 inches point-point. It was still a good time with the family but the crabbing has been off the last couple of times we have gone over there. Flounder giggin was less than stellar and I only ended up with 4 flounder total out of 3 trips but it sure was nice to be back down there doing it. Wednesday night we went and there were 3 other groups giggin also and the pass just cannot support that many folks dirtying up the water. I did get one that night but we only tried for about an hour. We spend some time playing in the surf and just relaxing. We ended up with 11 crabs for the crab stuffed flounder and tossed in some boiled shrimp for the stuffing as well. The ladies crabbed in the surf with crab baskets for the bulk of our crabs but were plagued with sponge crabs for the most part. This time of year the females move up on the beach to have their babies. We closed it all out on Sunday morning and headed home. Here are a few more pictures of the few that I took. Here is the house that we stayed in. It was actually second row but had a pretty much unobstructed view of the gulf. This house apparently has had nothing done to it since the hurricane. The concrete was all messed up underneath and the stairs were mostly gone. Another house in the background was missing some siding. We saw several houses that still had some damage but for the most part everything was back to normal down there. The Strand was up and going and most of the shops were open. It was interesting to see all the landscape that had changed after the hurricane and almost all of the trees in Galveston were dead from saltwater submersion. They are well on their way to getting back to normal but it is apparent that some will never rebuild/repair. I look forward to going back next year... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
