Started out real early 6:30 am Saturday morning August 22,
not many boats at the Minnow Bucket ramp at that time.

RMax and I started shallow near the mouth of lil Caney throwing No weight Flukes and Chicken shcitt rigs with Grande Bass MegaTail worms on the edge of pads and over the grass, boat in 8-9 foot throwing to 2-3 foot.

This was half way back in a deep cut working into a very lite North wind, absolutely perfect morning. We got bit immediately, one nice 3-lber and a dink in the first few minutes, it only got better as we moved deeper into the cut.

We got pretty far back in there , decided to let the boat drift with the wind back out of the cut and re:fish it again towards the main point. Still fishing the grass edge with light Tx Rigs with the MegaTails, Randy picks up a nice fish over 6-lbs, I'm catching good tournament fish (under the slot) had one go 15-7/8 inch at 2.7 lbs.

We moved out deeper on the point with the Tx-rig and D/S, with the boat in 14-15 throwing to deep edge of the grass with another 7-8 fish up to 4-lbs.

8:30 am Moved to a point inside lil caney, started up shallow and worked out the point with same baits as before, only caught 4-fish, 2-dinks, 1-4.lber and again RMax hooks another fish over 6-lbs, that's 2-he's up on me..

We had decided to leave the point, as we trolled out of the timber for open water when all the sudden, Big slot bass started schooling around us, we grabbed the flukes and the Chicken Shcitt rigs, quickly hook up on 3-fish, but lose them all on the way to the boat.

It's around 9:00 am now, we decide to move out deeper and head for the outer edges of Chaney creek fishing the timber and a ledge with D/S rigs using Grande Bass 5" inch GRN/PUMP finesse worms.
Found some under size 12"-14" inch fish in abundance holding in 21-23 foot.

9:35 am we make another move to an old road bed between Alligator and Lil Caney fishing in 17-23 foot, same baits as before.
Again, smaller fish under the slot were abundant and Rmax pulls another fish over the 6-lb range for a third time today.

10:15 Move to SRA point for the heck of it, we've caught fish at every stop, let's see if we can keep the streak alive.

It's a contest now between the fish, Me and Rmax. I Had to get some kind of competition going, with the morning we're having.

Sure nuff, we graph fish on top and the sides of the point in 21-24 foot, Randy chunks a buoy out and we circle it.

Randy hooks up first with a nice 2-lber and then I get one at 4.lbs two more dinks fall victim to the D/S and off we go for the final spot of the day.

Told the wives we'd quit by 11:00

10:45 am. another grassy point on the way to the Minner Bucket, we pull up kinda shallow and drop the trolling motor and first cast bang I catch a 12" inch fish, we're thinking its own, NOT.. fished out the rest of our allotted time and loaded up at 11:15 am..

The boat ramp is now almost full of boat less trailers and trucks, we high 5, and do the knuckle bump thing on a great morning on the water.

Over 30-fish, some real nice chunks, and some dinks, but it's all good.
I don't get to fish much for Fun any more, it sure was enjoyable to get out with a good friend and just have some fun on the water..

Fork is fishing better than I've seen in the last month or so, better get out and give it a go. 3-foot to 24 foot, they were bite'n..

Sounds like a great time and makes me wish I was not fishing Cedar Creek this weekend and could run out to Fork for some fun fishing. Definately looking forward to my next trip out there...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Thanks alot Billy, for makin me feel like the king of stupid. For the first time this year I went to Joe Freakin Pool, nice day, now wind, only 5 mins. from home (yankee thought process brain not right) and I read this http://www.ets-systems.com/lakefork/services/jjguideweekly.htm report(never ever believe any guide reports). They killed all the grass last year on JP so spent most of my time lookin for old grass areas - you know what there still aint any. By the time I figured that out jet skis and ocean liners were crawlin up by butt everywhere I went so I got pizzizzelled and just came home. I had myself convinced that it would of been a waste of time to drive two hours to Fork and was ok with it. So yeah thanks for the great report and flukes don't work. Everyone remember metro Lakes are for fags in fish n ski boats - So Just Fork It would ya.

LOL... Rick, the area you like near Gator cove
would have been real good I'd bet. We never made it over there.

It was a made to order day, the sunrise was gorgeous, that lite north breeze made it even better.
We probably could have stayed shallow longer, but I was itching to look for some deep fish,
so was RMax, he had a trip out with Lance the day before with good results also.

Randy said my morning spots were better(insert puffed up chest) I was glad to hear that, only thing was they sure let me down in Media when I needed them most, but hey, that's fish'n.

PS.. Water temps--for us were, 83-86 degrees.

Billy,

Can the mega tails be bought in stores? If so, does Cameron have them at LFM?

Randy and I both experimented with that, I like it hooked best right up thru the middle.
Rmax liked hooking it in the side thru the rings.

The worm is a modified version of the Baby Rattle Snake with a unique almost Auger tail design to reach the 8" inch mark..

Our best color was JuneBug.

Great Wild Bill.....my secret is out for summer time......hahahahaha

No really these worms are the Shhhheeeeeeettttt

Went night fishing with my old man and he's still a big believer in the Power Worm in a 10 inch. After catching 6 to his one he switched and hooked a monster that got him hung up under a dock....we were on one side and she was jumping on the other side.....needless to say she won but she was over 8 and close to 10 for sure,
