There really ain't nuthin better than spending time with the famliy. Especially when that time is in South East Louisiana and your host is "Bigun" Henry.... :-)

We arrived on Satuday in Houma to tables already set out and 30 pounds of fresh shrimp. Not long after we got here my cousin Kim showed up with a bushel of live blue crabs to add to the boil. Bigun already had the beer on ice and in no time all of the family began to show up at the Henry house and the fun began.

As if the fresh seafood boil was not enough to make me feel right at home back in Louisiana but we decided to head out to the marsh and catch some redfish Sunday morning and although it was a slow morning from SE Louisiana standards it was still a great morning of fishing. We ended up with 10 keepers between 16" - 26" between the 3 of us. Bigun, of course, whooped Mark and me but that is to be expected. None the less it was a great time and I love being out on that type of water.

We have discussed getting up in the morning and making one more run at the redfish but if not, here is a cooler of redfish from today.

Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Great times indeed. We chowed down on some dove and red snapper this weekend with friends.....

Got to go get some more (I wish I could figure out the photo thing on this website).

Dennis, resize them to 175Kb or smaller and you should not have a problem.

HH08, I think one of the redfish chucked it up in the ice chest... :-)

Bigun and I made a quick run out this morning to see if we could put a few more in the cooler. It was a slow morning but we did manage 6 decent reds and some throw backs.

All in all, it was a great weekend with my family in SE Louisiana. The food is always great and the hospitality can't be beat. Thanks again Bigun for opening up you house to your wife's cousin and his family. I know it kills you having to put up with me for that long but you do a great job handling it.... One of these days I am going to whoop your butt redfishing.... One of these days.... :-)

BTW: we stopped and picked up 30 pounds of boudin... :-) They only had 4 boxes of frozen so we picked up 10 pounds of fresh cold. Gonna have some with the redfish on the half shell tomorrow night.

Had a great weekend PQ. I am wore out at work this morning. On third cup of coffee and still trying hard to stay awake.
Quit being a mad, little bald man!
