Thanks guys, it was a tight finish winning by .1 pound or something like that but a "W" is a W so I am very happy. Side note, Jessica fished the Jr Angler division and won it as well. It was a good day in the Picou boat..... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Great Job Mike and Jess! I am especially proud of you Jessica, it is tough for kids to maintain their focus throughout a long tournament fishing day! |

Jessica told me afterwards that she really had a good time and I admitted to her that I enjoyed spending the day with her as well... She caught 2 fish Sunday. Her first fish was early and it went 0-12 then her second fish was 0-11. She was pretty excited to have a fish to bring to weigh in. I, of course, was pretty excited for her... Ozzie, I weighed in 8.95 lbs and Troy Rossman had 8.85 (I believe). There were 16 entries and 2 Jr Anglers. I hope the field grows throughout the season. I really did not think I had enough weight to win it but was hopeful based on the results from Saturday. When I asked Troy what he had and he responded with 8.85 (might have been 8.87) I told him he probably beat me. I was really happy when the scales settled over 8.9 lbs. I had a couple of great days on Lake Fork for this time of the year and really enjoyed both Saturday and Sunday. Caught a bunch of fish both days and broke off a bigun on Sunday. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Billy, thanks for the hospitality and thanks for helping me work thru my game plan for Sunday. The discussions/debates were quite entertaining.... I still chuckle when I think about some of your responses to my statements... hehehehe...... I respect you opinion and appreciate it my friend.... Gambit, we did check some of the places you and I fished on Saturday but they were not being productive so we spent time in other places that I have had success in the past. I never threw the technique that you and I caught most of our fish on. I started with the same method you and I started with and never looked back -- it worked all day. Yank, thanks for the comments buddy! I really enjoy the time on the water with my girls and hopefully it continues for many years to come. As far as back of the creeks or main lake, I never went to the backs of the creeks on either day. We stayed main lake or half way back the creeks. Saturday the bite we had was at the edge of the deeper pads and Sunday it was outside grass line. Scott, I could only hope for them to take their fishing to that level. I will of course support them if they have the desire. They fish tournaments with me more for the time with dad than for the fishing at this point. Jessica and I had a really good time together this past Sunday -- actually one of our most enjoyable days on the water together in a while. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
