I was fishing Fork Saturday around 1:00 and I a deer came out of the brush around the golf course and starting swimming out...She looked around and saw all the boats and couldn't figure which way to go so she swim back to the shore...It's a long way over to the other side if that where she was trying to go... a little later I saw another deer off the island. I guess they will swim a long ways?

Alligator. They stayed around for about 10 minutes diving down and feeding on baitfish.

I've seen them at the mouth of gator a few times too, it's whole family.. I've seen up to 6 at once.

Over in Penson near my house there is another family group of 8-10, they burrow into a pond dam for their dens. Their around the place year round. Pretty cool actually, i keep looking around for Marty Stouffer.. LOL

I have not heard from him.

Man the fishing on Fork was Brutal for our Boat. I think we had 24 in two days with most of them being dinks.

I friend of mine saw two deer last week out by the boat lane in front of the island by the Bucket.

Said they eventually made it back to shore and had to have been in the water for at least 30+ minutes

That would not be good to hit one of these running across the lake....

So... is it legal to harvest a deer from your boat in the middle of the lake during deer season on a public body of water? :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Its probably legal but you'd be pretty much an emormous putz in the fair chase scheme of things. Kinda like shootin a sitting duck on da pond or a pheasant on the ground, or perched doves.

Then I'm an enormous putz......

shot a duck on a pond

shot a pheasant on the ground running

shot doves off the high line

and

would probably shoot a deer swimming across a lake.

hahahahahahhahahaha it's not like the flying birds taste better than the sitting ones anyway.

You probably think bed fishing is for Putz too huh.........?
