Wow... This year has been one for the unveiling of a couple. I don't like to lose, at anything. I'm sure many of you feel the same way, to win by anything other than my own abilities or luck is something I would never consider under ANY circumstance. Ego and arrogance play some roll in every act of cheating. I believe that is true to an extent, money appears to be the largest motivation for certain individuals to risk everything for the cash and glory a win provides. I think it's an addiction for some, they enjoy success and will do any, and everything it takes to continue that success. That is a sickness, one really not so hard to understand, especially if you know the ones who cheated. I have been naive to think surely no one is doing that in the trails we fish. Apparently it exists at all levels and to every degree. I'm shocked and disappointed in such behavior from individuals I had given so much respect. It's a BLACK eye for the sport, and a disgrace too think of the 2nd place finishers who were cheated out of a Win. JM2C's KBD Fishing

Harakiri seems like an acceptable form of restitution. haha I bet he has to get on tranquilizers to sleep now since he is going to be looking over his shoulder from now on. Unlike everyone else...the times I met the man nothing ever really seemed "off" to me. Just your every day tournament jersey wearing product pusher....he never ego tripped about his leet skills or gave me unsolicited fishing "commandments" like several people that wear the jersey have. I think we may all be surprised how this soap opera plays out. He may out some folks and take the whole ship down...or he may fold up, cop a plea...do some community service and move to Arizona. The pathetic part about it...I don't honestly think any of this is about the money but about an ego trip and the cash is just a bonus. (Message edited by Cameron on October 27, 2009) |

Agreed Cameron. Ego boosts are way more exhilarating than money. Chuck GIG'EM AGGIES

I talked to a guide recently that had “corporate anglers” in a boat that wanted to cheat against their peers. I don’t remember the exact scenario but the guide had to tell them, “sorry fellas, this isn’t happening”. These were just run of the mill folks out on a “work paid for excursion” with prizes and bragging rights on the line. I also would like to think that cheating does not go on during the trails I fish but I also believe that would be naive. I think ego does play the biggest part in something like cheating with money being right up there also. Looking at how this all plays out so far shows that it was an addictive behavior and the final act being just flat out stupid rather than clever. You would have to think you are above the law and “everyone else involved” by trying to pull something like stuffing a pound of lead in a fish. Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc

Fishing should be more like hockey. Hockey has unwritten rules the players live by. Hockey teaches you from a very young age you cheap shot an opponnet you get your face beat in, you mess with the other teams goal tender you get your face beat in, you cheat or disrespect the game you get your face beat in - every single time you step on the ice till you just have to give up and quit. But then some one will see you that you don't even know, maybe your out like pumpin gas or having a beer or something and someone will beat your face in just for the hell of it. Try going to the rink and even the little kids will flip ya off and shake their heads. Hockey unwritten rule 101 - don't be a dirt bag. In my view he should of gotten his face beat in right in front of everybody at the scales. Maybe some day one of the dudes that finished second behind him will catch up with this turd, ya just never know. |

No, no, no , no way......there's no cheating in the trails we fish.......???????????????? I'm sure there is cheating that goes on in every tournament on different levels. But......dang.....a 1 lb weight.....hahahahahahahahaha that SOB is a F ing retard hahahahahaha hhahahaha I would think cheating on a lake like fork is a little harder because of all the traffic but who know's never would have thought it would have come to this. I'd like to kick his arse for those dudes that finished 2nd behind him.......though I did find it a little strange when he came to fork this year for the super-teams by himself and brught what he thought to be an over to the scales the first day......????????? Oh well.....I'm just gonna keep going after them 15 7/8 inch rats and hopefully make some beer drinking money. Catching Big Ole PIGS...
