Its that time up here.
A pic of first ice 2007, We hit largemouth bass up to 5 lbs every season this way too. But the "pig Monkey" is the pike up to 20-25 lbs

We got about 5 inches of ice now on the setback I fish- But dont get me wrong - I am not loving the cold this year- blood gets thin - follows the hair. bi@chin about cold, already - 8 degrees out and big wind this AM
Merry Christmas you Texans.

12 lb Pike

Got a bunch of fish- Slunning (sort of slip-sliding and running) after flags all day. We had fun - 8 degrees when we got there- went up to 20-something. Everything froze solid = all food and drink and had to be warmed up somehow before we could have any - Yankee Ingenuityboilin the buds

Once that flag goes up and the spool is buzzing it warms you up fast. More shots of a freezing cold hard water world.

An eagle hopes for a disgarded Perch on a single digit morning.

Its been a cold snap here in December. I wish it was May.

It was longer than the pic shows -- and it had a huge head (for up here) - My guess was 5 lbs, got two more in that category too.
Hows the fishin on Fork in March?
How far from Falcon and Amistad are you ;)

You lit the bassin light in me with the El'Salto experience

I now like Bassin more than Mullet fishing. Thats saying a lot. "Mullet go" "pop-pop"
