Had 2-keepers and 1-slot.. Fished from 7:30 am-10:30 am, big storm(looked like) headed my way so I got off the water. Fortunately the 2- keepers were pushing 5-lb total. Slot was a 5+ chunk, keepers were toads. looked pale/white, water was MUDDY-MUDDY-MUDDY. KBD Fishing

It was a tough day but we managed a few fish with one keeper. It was long and skinny - 15 7/8 in. and only weighed 2.14 lbs. Chuck GIG'EM AGGIES

OZ I just got home, holler at ya later if that's OK.. I actually had to work today---that sux's.. I did load the pic's from my phone cam of the fish yesterday. Shoddy pic's, but you can see them on the Pro rule. Man-the water looks like DoDo, kinda like 08 when we had a lot of rain---but without all this cold.. Makes it tough HUH !!!! KBD Fishing

I picked up Mark Howard Saturday at the Bucket after he let the guys go for the tournament and went out to check some water temps and clarity. The lake is still ugly in a lot of places. Ended up going to a cove that had some clearer, warmer water in it. Fished from about 10:30-12 there and found some action on traps for about 30 minutes about 11:00am. Caught 3 slots to ~ 7 lbs. I hooked one fish that never would come up and led me around the boat for a considerable time. I thought it was a big catfish at first and it turned out to be a 5 lb. bass that I hooked in the back. That was about it for excitement for Friday/Saturday. I caught one dinker Saturday afternoon on a fluke. Fished Friday from 12:00-4:30 without a bump. Also went out Sunday morning for an hour with Elderoz before they had to ride out at 8:00am. Nada for that hour. I went and eat breakfast and headed home. Chuck, Congrats on the check. Way to grind it out. Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc

Tommy was schooling me on the trap in that little flurry of bites. Those fish were in 2' to 4' water and I could see lots of fish staging in the middle of the cove. From what I hear its getting better day to day. Keep Tommy in your prayers he boogered a wrist up last week and needs some quick healing before the spawn. |

Gonna need some more prayers for that wrist folks. I boogered it up even more yesterday while working. Couldn’t even finish the job. I felt something pop and when we left I could not even turn the key in the ignition of the truck. Thankfully Steve Trimble is gonna help me finish the job Sunday. Got a couple of key cuts to make to drop the rest of a tree that I could not trust my regular help with…. Mark, I enjoyed your company on the water Saturday. Hope we can do it again. Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc
