Prayers sent as well. I never did trust them critters, no kill switch on them unless you pack a side arm. But I have plenty of scars from my MX days and they had kill switches, but in those days pain was a lot more tolerable.LOL

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, I will share them with her...

The incident occurred Saturday when Connie was working Corey's horse in the arena. She thought it was dry enough and got the horse into a canter. The horse slipped and fell on Connie. Fortunately, when the horse got back up she did not bolt and stood there because Connie's left foot was stuck in the stirrup.

We just got home from the Orthopedic Dr & a CT scan of her head/neck area because she has some neck pain and other things of concern. She is sleeping now hopefully comfortable.

She broke the bone in her arm just below where it attaches to the shoulder and broke the leg bone just above her ankle. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday morning.

I am waiting to hear from the Dr about the CT scan -- hopefully it is clear.

On a lighter note.... She has repeated several times that it was not the horses fault. She takes full blame for the accident and says she should not have asked the horse to canter.... She is really concerned that I am going to get rid of the horses.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I would have them Horse at the meat market by now...but I understand some folks really like horses. They scare the crap out of me. I've rid them just a few times and it not much fun to me. this is about the 3rd or 4th time I've heard of someone I know getting hurt from a horse on elady wasin a wheel chair for months and still today is recovering she was hurt so badly. I'm glad we have trucks now days ;)

Thanks everyone, Connie is going into surgery now and it will be 2 - 3 hours before that is done. I have no concerns about the procedure and I know she is in good hands all the way around -- God, doctors, nurses.

Both doctors are very optimistic about her starting rehab in a few weeks so I am looking for a fast recovery and back to normal activity in the upcoming months.

This morning was pretty rough but she is feeling much better now. They are keeping her at least one more night to try and get a handle on her pain level.

She is still in the hospital and may stay thru Sunday. She ran a fever last night and her blood pressure was very high. They were able to get her fever down and she is feeling much better this morning.

The good news is that her pain level seems to be pretty good.

She is home now and will be getting in home care 3 times a week to help her with her physical therapy. Her pain level is good and her spirits are good. The only thing missing is her ability to get around the house easily.

Glad she is home, that will let you both get a little rest. Prayers for a complete healing and no long term impairment.
I wore a full cast on my leg for 13 weeks back in 79'. There will be times of tremendous frustration trying to get around. Be patient with her.
