I am pumped to get out there and see what that lake is like. I've never been on it and based on what I hear it fishes a little different than most lakes.

The rule that the lake has been off limits to all competitors is the only reason I felt compelled to enter this one -- and the chance to fish there after 9 years of being closed.... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Don't be afraid to throw topwater in 20+ foot of water especially if there are treetops in the area.

Take lots of pictures. I bet it is awesome after being closed to public for 9 years.

You will have to hide in the floor of the boat to rig your hook...Lol

The camera will come out for fish over 7 pounds and then lots of pics if we have 24 pounds in the livewell. Until we reach the 24 lb mark I will be all fishing... :-)

Zeet, it is a benefit tournament put on by Fun & Sun. It filled up in a matter of hours I believe. 100 boats total.

I will have the camera out at weigh in so I will try and get some good pictures of all the toads....

What is this dropshot you speak of? Does it catch any fish?

Actually, my game plan has some special baits from JDC Baits made specifically for this event and it will not be on a dropshot presentation. Will have a few different cranks tied on, some T-Rig, C-Rig, etc... The dropshot will be a last resort effort. Big blades and big worms. 4 two pounders won't do any good on Saturday. Heck, I will probably have 8 rods on the deck at take off because I have no idea what they are going to eat.

In the treeline across from the discharge a white/purple back Norman Middle "N" was unbeleivable ont he smallies. A carolina rig in the main lake ditches in 30-40 feet of water was $$$$$$.

My PB stringer 28+ came on Squaw Creek.
