HA !!!! That's funny Rick, that sucker has some kind of BIG/DEEP water look don't it. Hey, he's on pad at least.

I bet it weighs 3200-lbs dry, I wouldn't feel safe in anything less than 100-ft on that lake in rough water.

Couldn't believe some of the new rigs up here now, used to be Lund was the only game in town. Now everyones got one these tanks. Billy safety is all about checkin your pants every once in while if there a mess time to make like a hockey player and get the puck outta there.

Note the kicker motors. The smaller motor is an emergency motor that can be used to get back home if the primary motor fails.

Bring it on up Zeet we'll send you back to yo mud puddle whinin and cryin in your boots, just like the rest a them big bad bold texas lillies try commin up here talkin dink smack hanging with the Real Bad Boy RedNeck fisherman on our BAMF Water

Just how rough was it? Brian Clark of Halton City, Texas, spent nine years riding bulls on the Professional Bull Riders circuit and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association before starting his rookie season on the Elite Series.

If it came down to a choice between riding bulls or Lake Erie, Clark said, "You can line up any bull you want to, and I'll get on (versus boat riding on Lake Erie). That was crazy. Ten-foot swells for almost 40 miles. Three hours to get there (Dunkirk) and almost four to get back."

And those were the two dominant themes of the day: 1) how good the smallmouth bass fishing is on Lake Erie; and 2) how rough the water can get on the 10th-largest lake in the world.

One fisherman, 20 year old Corey Waldrop of Dallas, Texas, saw his engine conk out while he was fishing down near Dunkirk (need a little kicker there sonny boy). Waldrop says waves washed over the back of the boat as he was working on the engine and eventually swamped and submerged his 20 foot boat. He called for help help me help me on a cell phone and both the Coast Guard and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department boat responded to bail him out. Hope he took care of them boys at the bar the way we do.

His boat was towed back to Dunkirk while Waldrop used a back-up tournament boat to bring back his catch for a fish weigh-in at the NFTA Small Boat Harbor.

And then of course we can't forget what your forkin brutha the Future of Puddle Fishin Says: This is where I learned the meaning of rough water. It nearly killed wha wha wha me but I learned.Of all the lakes I fish I have more respect for Erie than any other body of water. Lake Erie is a Great Lake and it proved Great in many aspects. . Anglers in Texas can pick the roughest lake in the state and times that by 50 and that is what Erie is like on a good day.

Dam-it Rick, lets go. I haven't thrown up in a long time. LMAOOOOOOOOOO. I remember Brian talking about it last year at the Skeeter Owners tournament.. He gave me a odd look when he said "it's unreal".. I believed him too, basically he was saying never again.
Waldrop said "Adios" after that year, Clark fished one more, and dropped out this year.
I remember one dude (a pro) was using a high sided boat for Erie. Can't recall who it was.

That would be Brian Snowden of Reeds Spring, Mo.

Snowden came to the 10th-largest lake in the world with a definite advantage — a Tracker Marine Tundra 21, made primarily for walleye fishermen. It's outfitted with a 225-horsepower motor, which will push the 21-foot boat at a top speed of 55 miles per hour. That's more than enough speed on this lake, where the almost-constant big waves have most anglers claiming they're rarely pushing their throttles past speeds of 25 mph.

"I was asking for more wind today, because everybody else could run as well as I could," said Snowden after Friday's competition, when the wind didn't blow nearly as hard as it did Thursday.

Most of the anglers brought their regular sponsor-wrapped bass boats to Lake Erie. Both veteran Steve Kennedy and rookie Corey Waldrop almost sunk theirs Thursday when their bilge pumps couldn't keep up with all the waves crashing into (and over) their boats.

And even if you kept the water out of your boat, it was definitely a rough ride for the rest of the Elite Series anglers Thursday, when 6-foot swells became common on Lake Erie.

Snowden's Missouri home isn't far from the Bass Pro Shops headquarters in Springfield, and the company is one of his Elite Series sponsors. But it was through that sponsorship Snowden was able to change boats this week.

"I was very fortunate," said the 35-year-old Snowden. "I requested one from Tracker Marine. They worked out a deal with a (boat) dealer who wanted to buy it at a discount after I was done with it."

Snowden hasn't second-guessed that decision a single second this week in Buffalo.

"The bass boats just aren't made for this," Snowden said. "In this boat, the high sides allow you to go in this water and be safe. The guys in the bass boats can't move around as much, because it takes so much time, due to the rough water.

"It's equipped just like the bass boats. You've got plenty of storage for all your tackle and big livewells.

"For fishing this lake, you're fishing offshore structure. You're not fishing docks or anything where you've got to make accurate casts.

"I think it's more efficient for this type of fishery."

Snowden has proven his point. He caught a five-bass limit weighing 19 pounds, 9 ounces the first day — and topped that with 21-2 Friday, putting him in seventh place with 40-11 after two days on Lake Erie.

This special ERIE ZEETARD course is free of charge for proud texans that think they can run bass boats on lake Erie.

yah they managed to get to some shallow water and the boat filled up and sat there until the rain quit and the storm blew through. They were worried but made it okay. they spent the rest of the day cleaning out all the sand and mud. Luckily the main motor didnt go underwater and it started. The trolling motor is messed up but it will be fixed.
