grant, i looked at that boat on basscat's website and it is now at 26k. I sure wish i had my down payment already. At least then i could buy it and take teh mrs. out so she will quit bugging me about it. She fished at her parents pond over last weekend and backlashed my reel so bad i had to cut it out. She said she is a bit rusty. DOH.

I'll jump on the Skeeter bandwagon... I liked my SX but when I got in this ZX all bets were off... I've been in most brands and I'll take the Skeeter over all of them for one reason or another. From a total package I will choose a Skeeter tournament boat every time.

The kitty cat is a close 2nd in the running for sure but has some little things I personally do not like about it. The Legends are in a distant 3rd for many reasons.

I base my opinions on hull design, running surface, storage, fishability, and the list goes on.

Grant is just a die hard kitty cat fan and one of these days I will let him drive a real boat -- Skeeter... :-)

Grant is definately a dard hard with a cats. I have been in a few of them and really like them as far as how they ride and the craftmanship they are built with. I have been in a skeeter many times but i just dont think it is the boat for me right now. I do think they hae come a long ways with their design.

It all depends on what is important to you no matter what anyone else thinks about the boats. I would encourage you to drive a few different brands before drawing a conclusion -- assuming they are all in your price range. I've noticed that there is a tremendous difference between riding in one and driving one.

thanks for the advice. i appreciate it. My last boat was a 91 Ranger 391V with a 175merc efi. That was the last boat i drove. I have been in a couple basscats, and skeeters since then but havent had the chance to drive them yet.

The Kitty's are dang nice boats, if your buying used I would look at any of the big 5. B/C,Skeeter,Ranger,Triton,Champion. All those brands deliver on ride and fit&finish as I see it. I have drove all, and rode in all. I would buy any of them if the price was right, and the boat was up to snuff.

Well, I can't say that, you are getting old enough to qualify for buying a ranger or champion. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

I am with Redskeeter, any of the big 5, It just depends what you want. I run a Pro craft, It has everything I needed (Good solid boat) at a price I could afford at the moment.

My favorite boat I have ever owned was a Skeeter SF 175. It was a 1986 model. I handed it down to my brother and he still running!

Mike, is right riding and driving is totally different.

1 Thing I have noticed is the difference in raised casting deck and a boat not having them, is that with them you have to be careful until you get use to them. I have almost walked off of mine a couple of times. But....after all it is me...Lol.

I would take the time to drive a new Skeeter but I go buy them so fast I just can't turn around unless I am looking back to see who it was LOL!!!!!!! Just get a Cat and be done with it.
