Ok, I am going to select a date and we will go from there.

January 22nd

If you can fish on the 21st, great... I know that a couple of folks will probably be on the lake that day. I am not sure if I will have that Friday (21st) off or not, but I will definatly be there on Saturday.

If this weekend is awfull for everyone then so be it, we can push to the next weekend. I cannot do it the weekend of the 15th because I will probably be out of town.

So, mark your calendar and let's go catch some fish.

Who is in, boat?

I am in and I have a boat capable of holding 3 people total. If Dean does not bring a boat then I have room for one more.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Glad to start a new thread - the other was getting long!

I spoke with Ronnie (my buddy who will travel with me from Houston) and he is in for the trip. He has some experience on the lake also. I guess I can bring my boat and he and I will split the gas cost of doing so. Picou - Bro - I would like it if you could join us on my boat, that is if we do not need yours for additional fishermen (or fisherwomen). We will stay in a hotel/motel close to the lake. He wants to put in at Willis?. He said that we might stay in Sherman, Wiseboro, or Kingston. Do ya'll have any feedback for me regarding these options?

We'll bring our boat if we get to make it. We would also have room for 2-3 more. We'll just have to confirm closer to time. Keith actually got a call yesterday about going to interview for a different company. That might just be the answer to our prayers. I'll keep you posted on all that.

Oh, and I'm not having the surgery, so any time is fine with me.

I'll also check and see what my dad has going on that weekend and we could bring our boat if we can make it. As long as I stay retired and independently wealthy any time was good with me also. :-)

Good Thing Audra! Answered Prayers! Looking forward to fishin with ya!

Big_p - Retired, Independantly Wealthy? Must be nice! Glad to have ya'll participating!

I have another friend here named Eddie who wants to go. He does not have a boat though.

Now we are at 11 people and 5 possible boats. I would like to have Picou, Ronnie, and Eddie on my boat which is all I can take - unless Picou has another plan with his boat.

Everyone - Should we start some prize structures for best boat haul and best fish? Maybe have a small entry for those who want to participate? Maybe have cash or gift certificates to Academy or something? need feedback! No prizes - just fun is OK too!

Oh - I got it! Maybe FTN should put a hat and a sticker up for biggest fish?

I will be taking my boat and Wes will be in it probably -- he drinks beer too... :-) I still have room for one more -- if he really makes it up here... :-)

No entry fee and I will toss in a hat & 2 stickers for the largest striper of the day -- registered members only. The honor system will be allowed if accompanied by a digital picture. This is so that if your already at your 2 fish over and you catch a 30 pounder we have proof... :-) Remember, no culling on Stripers -- once in the live well they stay in the live well.

If anyone wants to throw some cash into a pot we can do that as well.

BTW: I am exempt from winning the hat and stickers.

The 22nd?

Maybe. I'll be spending some time in a blind in south Texas sometime around that time. Probably not after the 16th when general season ends, but we'll see. I'll know more closer to the date.

See Mike - all you had to do is put up a small prize and all of a sudden we are almost twice the participants!

Welcom Aboard Everyone!

When we get closer to 1-22-04 we will put a list together of who will be there and who will ride with who. In the meantime - try to solidify your position regarding who you will fish with so when that day comes, it will already be figured out - hopefully.

I would like to put a sheet together showing the breakdown of participants and the boats they will be fishing from - If this is OK with everyone else? I'd like start a new thread (not within a thread) strictly for head count and boat allocation. Can anyone help with this?

Greg, we will make room for you in one of the boats for sure. I will take my boat if it is needed and there will be room for one more. Charles is hoping to make it that weekend also.

I think there will be plenty of room buddy... As soon as I know about my boat I will let you know

Tex, I am pretty sure that Dean will be fishing on Friday and there is a good chance that I will fish on Friday also.

Yep - My plan is to go to Texoma on Thursday and fish the afternoon. Then fish Friday. Then fish Saturday. Then go home Sunday. I intend to bring my boat.

I still have not figured out where we will be staying. We will apparently be putting in at Willis?. We might stay in Sherman, Wiseboro, or Kingston. Do ya'll have any feedback for me regarding these options?

The closer to the lake the better. Look for some cabin rentals or something like that. Most of the marinas have hotels on site I believe. I'll look for a texoma site that has a bunch of links

Ron is saying that the location he has been successfull at in the past is closest to the OK side and we should stay as close to that as possible. Any comments?

Wednesday next week we will have our anual company BBQ where Ronnie's cabinet shop and my business get together and have our Christmas party. I will try to get more detailed info from Ronnie at that time regarding launch and lodging. Also he will have some photo's of his past trips to Texoma that I will scann for him and help him post.

So far I have asked Eddie and Ronnie to log in and sign on for the trip - but neither has done it yet. Hmmmmm..... Maybe intimidated by the computer...?

Time for a dumb question,, Did I read somewhere that you needed an Oklahoma fishing license to fish up there, since the state line is the river bank on the Texas side??

Lake Texoma fishing license I think costs $7.50... This is a license that is good for fishing the lake. If you choose not to get the Texoma, you are only legal if you stay on the Texas side of the river channel.
