Good god Wes... where is your lease at.

Sinkey and I just got on one over in Tilden, just east of Catulla. Can't wait to see some of the bruisers on there.

Saw some monsters when we hunted it last year.

thanks picklefork. that video was just a typical tech student..... :-) at least it is not a photoshop deal like the swimsuit pic.....

As for the lease down south, I got pics with temp up to 117. hotter then a mofo down there filling feeders. also eats trailcam batteries like crazy. Winter I can get 6k+ pics a set, temps like now I am lucky to get 1400. Zeet and stinkey are hunting about 10-15 miles down the road but I figure all the fat girls in tilden will keep them from actually doing any hunting. They won't know what to do in South texas where all the girls actually have teeth.

Not sure yet. Waiting to get some better pics of some of them. The only one I know for sure that is 6.5yo and a potential shooter is the last pic, buck on the right.

The one in the first and third pictures looks to have some age.

Keep the pics coming, especially after they lost their velvet.

Looking good Wes for sure! We will definately need to hook up down there and drink some Blue Sodas!

Here's all I have so far off camera when Jerry set my protein feeder up. Talk about some serious bacon!

yea we have pens around every setup. if a person wants to shoot hogs they put up another feeder outside the pen. you do have the occasional jumper though you have to deal with. Protein runs $8+ a bag. I want it to go to the deer and not the hogs.
Our feeder pens average 20 panels built in a circle. To go along with that, I notice a huge decline in the number of deer at feeders when you get a hog that is jumping into the pen versus when it is just the deer visiting that feeder.

I hear you on that..... just with the ground blinds and us only bow hunting its hard for me to justify shooting through a 3x3 square in the panels.....

we are bow only also. build your pen, put your blind up next to the pen and cut that panel where your window is. also if you use the taller panels, 54inches I think. you can cut 10 inches or so off of several key panels where you would prefer your deer to jump into the pen and most deer will use the lower panels to get in and out of the pens. We use the 36inch panels for our pens.

Wes-
It has a pen around it now. When it was first set up, we threw a camera on it, and waited a week to pen it in.

I cant wait til next weekend!

Work weekend for me in Santo. Gonna suck in this heat. Thems some nice bucks Wes. Good news they are still growing them antlers down south, gonna get bigger.
I have got spoiled to NE Kansas hunting. Comfortable weather to hunt and just set a stand between a bean or corn field and a bedding area and wait for them to come through. You usually hear them before you see them, especially the 250 pound plus bucks. They will wake you from your nap.
Texas hunting is losing it's charm with all of this heat.

Mark saw your post on tff about selling the hunts in Kansas. Looks awsome. I would be all over it if I wouldn't have picked up this lease in South Texas. Hunted Kansas a few times with PQ and bigun. Good times up there and some monster deer.

Pickle, pens are too keep the hogs and cows away from the feeders.

Yank, well you are yankee and guess that explains. piss off.

Allright I can't take it anymore.

1. We don't have to get deer leases, we hunt to save money on food.
2. We don't feed or shoot deer under feeders.
3. We don't sit in boxes.
4. We hunt and stalk on the ground.

Cause we ain't softies and our deer a BAMFs just like the real yankee redneck boys.

Some em aint just mean but downright scary.
