Yep, but don't worry they thought it was the end of great lakes fishing.....filter feeders, no plankton for young fish, bait fish and such. There a pain for any power plant or industry with intakes or discharge pipes, but they cleared up the lakes so more light can get down deeper more grass. Imagine sight fishing 20-30 feet down on some days.

I've completed a design on a retractable pump intake for water irrigation systems to use on lakes that are invested. It drops down into the water automatically prior to the pumps activation, then retracts when the cycle is complete. Thus reducing the amount of available time for the mussels to clog the intake foot valve..

If the foot valve lays there underwater for an extended length of time it will be completely covered up and be rendered useless. The studies I’ve researched show just a few days is all it takes.
Do you agree ?

Yeah I know divers that worked on pipe line removal projects. Big $$$. By the time they got to the end they had start over at the front.

I'm already tired of seeing them on Texoma. With all the tournaments on Texoma now I suspect they will spread to all area lakes in the next few years.
