I know they still need boat captains -- boaters and non-boaters. Last year was my first year to participate and it was an absolute blast. These guys love to fish and they are on a national tour for points and prizes. I ended up switching to non-boater last year because that was what they needed and fished with Brent Homan for the weekend. We had a great time on and off the water and I met some great guys. We established a good friendship and talk frequently. The format is set up so that Saturday the Veterans are fishing against each other and you are just a boat captain for the day. I ended up running the trolling motor for Brent and he finished in the money. We both got a check for $500 on Saturday. Sunday we fished as a team and although we weighed a limit we did not finish in the money. We still had a great time and caught a bunch of fish. If you can sign up, PLEASE VOLUNTEER to be a boat captain and make sure that no veterans are left on the dock (unless they want to be). If you cannot be a captain, see about volunteering for some of the other stuff that they have going on. There are still some boater spots that need to be filled so if you are on the fence, please get on board and volunteer to be a boater for this thing. You will not be disappointed......
