My wife and I slipped away last night for a little R&R at the Homewood suites near Bass Pro Shops. After making a lap around the grapevine mills mall we were off to Big Buck Brewery and then BPS. I usually wait until the big spring sale before I load up on lures, so I ended up not getting a whole lot, but I did manage a new electric filet knife and some new slabs that I'm hoping to get some use on at Texoma next week. Our 24 hours of peace and quite is over though as my wife went to pick the kids up.

Suprised you didn't head over to the lake. Was out there yesterday and took a couple ducks. There were few guys on shore hiting some crappies. They caught about 8 each. All on minnows.

I need to make a run to BPS and see if there is anything I cannot live without.... :-)

Glad you & your wife were able to log a little quiet time together. I know how hard that is to come by...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Thats great. Couples need that quiet time.

Seems like I had a new young-un everytime we had quiet time? :-)

I hear you Rob. We thought that had been taken care of 1 kid ago. My youngest one was a post tubal baby. Needless to say there was a second tubal done.

Sounds like a great time. Can't bring my wife there...she would find out what I spend on fishing/hunting if I did. Keep 'em ignorant is my motto.

I'm trying to talk her into going to the Bownanza. My oldest is out on spring break that week. Just trying to decide if it would be enjoyable with 3 kids 6 and under to keep up with. Do you know if there are many kids usually there or would we be the only ones?

It is like a fireant bed with young kids running around there. I can think of at least a dozen in that age range that will be there. And that is just the people I know. Bring them on. We would love to have you there.

I think we'll end up going. I will probably start looking for a hotel room this week. I beleive the one everyone is staying at is already full. What time does everyone start arriving at the park? Also how does the food work? I always see pictures of people cooking. Do they sell food there or is it everyone fends for themselves?

ITs everyone cooks a load. You just walk around and graze. NO charge. Usually everyone brings something to chip in for their part. Desserts, side dishes, accessories just whatever you want and can afford. I think there are still a few rooms at the motel so you might want to check with them. I have made the first two and it really has become something I look forward to more than the opener of deer season. It is an awesome time.
