How in the hell do you sink a boat on a sand bar you are high center and can't move and I have never seen waves go over the side of a boat to shallow? |

Insurance has totaled it.... He's getting a new boat, Randy Qualls has offered him a like new boat as a replacement.. Sinkey told me something interesting Rick observed about his Legend.. It sank in 5-mins, not partially, it out right sank -- quick.. Thats giving him second thoughts about going back to that brand.. Can't say I'd blame him on that.. What if ?? they had been in 10-20 foot of water ?? Not good. KBD Fishing

Grant they were going with the waves @ 25mph rolled over a wave dropped down in the gut with the nose headed down and speared the sand bar hard. Big waves rolled over the rear end high as the buttseat swamping the boat in mins. They tried to turn it around into the waves but it was so heavy once they did the waves were coming over the bow---to late to do anything at that point but letter sit.. KBD Fishing

I guess I'm missing sumpin' here...I can see taking water in that situation. But how do you sink on a sand bar? All modern bass boats will sink to water level. If left long enough they will roll over. Eventualy over a long period of time they will sink...were talkin weeks. Floatation in bass boats is regulated. |

Mark, it went down as far as it could go due to shallow water 4-5 foot. The salvage guys latched on to it with a wild looking boat. All kinds of gadits hang off it, got some water out of it-enough to raise it eneough to drag it back to the ramp.. It was a miricale no one was hurt. KBD Fishing

Pickle- He was able tio get it off the sandbar and back into a little deeper water til it started going down. They actually towed the boat back upside down back to the ramp. Then flipped it back over to get it on the trailer. I talked to him about it the other day since he might be interested in buying my boat. Funny story for sure! |
