Anyone having any luck on buzzbaits.. I'm looking for a big kicker fish while fishing the mornings of the tournament in the dark with a blk buzz bait.. It can call huge fish up--I'm hope'n.

The smaller topwater baits have been real good but not the size I want for this event..

Also, we will be fishing some big DiamondBacks and 12"inch worms early . I'll switch back to my confidence baits later in the day if I go out deep..

The lake is as dangerous right now as I've seen it in a LONG time..... Just try and get into LFM in a crowd on pad.... Not gonna happen, you'll tear something up.. or get hurt, maybe both..

Looks real bad, I'll tell you guys --- I don't have a good feeling about this one...

Billy, a friend of mine was there this weekend and had some upper end slots and 1 over from his Kayak.

Good luck in the McyD's.... Be safe heading to and from!!!

The bite was really off.. The dam radio was full of it.. Many of the overs were coming from deeper than many thought with the lake turning over..

I caught 2-fish Sat... TWO !!! you kidding me. Kay had 3-4 maybe..

Rmax caught 3-Sat.. Curtis caught 4..

You tell me the fishing is good and we can't catch a cold.. B/S..

Two of the guys that finished in the top 5 caught 2-3 fish the whole tournament, one of them happened to be the right fish.. Same with us and with Rmax and Curtis.. You had to get lucky and get the right one.. The numbers were WAY off overall.

Kay got a warning ticket on a 2.75 under Sunday... let it sit in the livewell to long it relaxed.. I had a 2.5 do the same thing Sun..

I didn't see many fish at any of the weigh-in we made.. Pretty slim pick'ns... Worst I've ever seen it..

If you did get on a pattern and went to weigh a fish dam hole jumpers would move right in on your spot as soon as left.. The wind Sunday hurt us, I found a good pattern the fish would bite--finally.. Problem was.. Kay just having surgery last week, I couldn't run the lake with the big rollers..

Dang it Billy sorry to hear that. That's why I hide too. I heard the hole jumpers were bad, Jeremy said a guy tied up to a tree on a point 20 ft from their boat.

Sounds like a bunch of yankees or elder oz's were out there hahahahahahahaha

Hope Kay is doing good bud.

Thanks Zeet.. You too OZ man..
Kay was hurting Sunday, the lake was RUFF.

I never seen it like this, strange chit man..

perfect conditions--light wind, cool mornings, warm afternoon, water temps 73-79-shad all over the areas we fished-found (green) grass..

Couldn't buy a bite on a topwater--buzzbait(blk) for an hour straight every morning in the dark, yeller magic for another 30-mins as it got lighter.. freak'n NADA.. WTF....???
Did catch a few on chatterbaits Friday morning, nothing after Friday on those either.

Don't know if we'll be pulling another multi day tournament so soon. Kay shouldn't have fish this one.. I got a ton of stuff to do at the house, I have to tap into city water for my sprinkler system or I could lose my grass in the back yard..wooo weeee $$$$$$$$$$$. don't want that..
We'll see..

I do feel we could catch a nice limit atleast one day, after what we just went through--don't know so much about doing it two days in a row..
The fishing is supposed to be just as bad next weekend.. Who knows !!!!!!!!!

Got the Berkley in 2-weeks too..
Tony -- Guides can fish in that one I believe..

One dude had a 9.90 sump'n first day I think on a Magic...Really !!! WTF.. I had "one" fish bust it--only bust it, didn't take it.. IN 3 DAYS..

The overs were crusing the mid depths evidently, I hung a monster (what) ?? who knows, Friday at high noon.. That fish lit me up, absolutely owned me for about 30-seconds, she found a stump- then snap !! My fault,I must have freaked out and not put enough heat on her to get the head up and out. You know how it is when you go long hours without a bite..

I would look for--like stated above--the big girls will rule..

I'd jump holes myself - I'd go looking for the Real Zeeter with my big slow deep V Center Console wake maker. I'd get one of those clamp things to attach to a stump right near him and ask "Hey Zeeter got any minnows I can borrow?". My casts would be gloriously high with impressive water displacement upon landing.

Ive seen enough to know most of us up here would get croaked trying to keep up on your water for your bass.. Lots of reasons why.. But you guys would have a lot of trouble catching a salmon, trout, ocean run striper or walleye on a plastic that smells like a garlic pizza. Or a jig that looks like something a cat coughs up.

Yeah salmon and stripers they are real hard to catch, put 9 million fish swimming up a stream thats as wide as a half a football field...... seems real challanging or stripers that school up and bust the top.

Yall aint nothing but a bunch of finesse guppy dunking chucker pluckers!

We discourage people launching out of our place during the tournament anyhow. People park like animals, everyone gets blocked in until after final weigh in...hell one year an EMS truck had trouble getting in after a man fell of stage and broke his leg on a tournament that was 1/2 this size.

Exactly how would Pope's have been a better location? I'm a bit confused. Boat lane in there is just as creepy as the one into our place. Lake is much lower than it has ever been, you do what you can. We tried to do everything we could to make this event more comfortable for contestants.

Hundreds of people ran in to the marina, only heard of one guy losing his lower unit in little caney...

Turnout was a hair over 2500...

I GPS'd a lane the weekend before and could fly into weigh-in and get a ticket anytime I felt like it.

Sunday we got on some good fish near your place Cam... Thumbs up on that..

If we lose 18/one hundredths more of a foot..she'll be at 7'foot below pool, most since 1985 on record... It was filling up back then.. A lot of the stuff I'm seeing right now---had leaves on the last time I saw it back then.. LOL

Fork didn't hit full pool until sometime 86... The year Stevenson caught Ethel.. We were on the lake that day duck hunting in the mornings and bass fishing once the birds shut down..
Ow weeee It was unbelievable to see it back then.. I can still--in my minds eye.. being the ol basstage that I am..
