Are the kids limited to the longest cast or can the adults get into this game too?

I've been known to use a pretty long pole when I fish for trout. You know, those fish can see too darn good and you need a little distance between them and your bait presentation. Either you drop it out there cane pole style under a bobber or straight line or you can cast it waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy out there with a weighted bobber.

You know, I was never like this before I started going down to Seguin......

LMAO.... Kinda reminds me of those folks below the dam at Texoma with their surf rods casting all the way across the river with 2 oz weighted corks and a little bitty bucktail covered hook catching 3 pound stripers. The get a running start to make the cast and break a sweat in February jigging that cork back in.

I agree, Wes is a BAD influence... :-)

Have to admit Seguin is known for it's troublemakers...Bad people to hang with!

But somehow I have a feeling you had something a little wrong with you prior to going there Rob!

I don't think it is Seguin you can blame it on. You live in Austin right?

Bigun you got that right! But somehow the art of "overkill" was perfected down Seguin way?

BigP you have an excellent point there. I keep thinking the Pet patrol is going to bust my front door in for deer heads on the wall.

Mike I spotted some long pole casters out in Oregon and Washington State too. They apparently build long long steelhead rods to throw in the rivers over there (for river Steelheads) much like they do at the Lake Livingston dam here (stripers at Livingston).

I know there are a few boys that hang below the Livingston Dam who blast casts 130 - 150 yards out. They have anchored barges in the river to cast from. It's got to be a tough workout.
