I agree to an extent Cam, people flat out get mad at Eric or bad mouth him because to be honest he spends more time on the water and is flat out better than them (maybe jealous, maybe poor sport, whatever). Eric is one of my best friends, I've spent more time in a boat with him then anybody else, talk to him almost everyday and will defend him all the time in any fashion. He's hot headed yes but when you have the fire to win in anything you need to be that way. Does he cause scenes yeah sometimes, have I caused a seen at a tournament before, you bet! I keep hearing about all this tournament drama but at every single weigh in or tournament all I see everyone hugging and arse grabbing! Most of the drama comes via cell phones or behind the computer. So ask yourself......what is the drama I speak of. I agree I have been more then p'ed off at Eric, over spots, but at the end of the day when he doesn't have a trip or I'm not fishing a tourney he and I are out looking for fish. That's gonna happen and we both accept that! Most of you guys really dont even know Eric, yeah you see him at tournaments or hear how he acted or you see a young cat with ear rings and think automatically bad of him. Eric would do anything for any of you and would probably be one of your best friends until you cross him or talk bad about him (can't blame him there). Flat out the guy can fish and is always gonna finish in the top! I mean really talking about a guy that doesn't have internet or not even a member of this site really should tell him that he is a stick and there are some that are jealous of his fishing ability! Cameron, I dont think you knew what you were reading. And after reading what you wrote, Im gonna touch on a few points here. 1. Im not asking E to log on and defend himself. Im not bashing him, just trying to help him out. 2. As far as Ranger and DSM, I knew that coming a few weeks back, even more reason for him NOT to act like that at a tournament. His actions and his reputation is all he's got in this deal. I cant do anything for that, only Eric can. 3. Ive never had a misunderstanding with E, have no problems with him. I like everyone else on here dont want to see him go down a spiral and mess up a good thing he has going. 4. But I know for a fact myself, Zeeter, simms, dyson, pickle, ozz, Tom, picou, all of us, support him more than anybody. Probabaly more than you think Cameron. 5. As far as whos the better angler? I dont care. Its not about that to me. He has taken money from me, I have taken money from him. Thats how it goes out there. That will never change. Shoot everyone on this site knows Fork like back of our hands. 6. On your last statement about him helping others out cashing checks? Ive never asked Eric for help, Eric has never asked me for help. But you dont think Eric has never needed help out there? You forget, I was out there more than you think the last several years. But us as anglers always hit a wall, and need some help. Im not ashamed to say Ive done it. Ive seen everyone on this site struggle before. But I know myslef and other on here dont mind helping out as much as we can without revieling our own hand. But to act like others have cashed checks just because of him, come on. So maybe after your text this morning I got Cam, you should remover your post. Im just tryiong to help him out. But I think I can speak for myself and everyone on here when I say, no matter what E does, we will always have his back and support. Thats the respect hes earned from us on the water. I think that anyone who is trying to make a living fishing local ametuar trails on one lake that is also a slot lake....prolly needs a lot more help in life than any of us weekend anglers can provide. Waterdogs *RULE* I'm gonna fish live bait baby----a 15.61 came out of my cove in 2010 out of 10-ft on a dog--that area now is only 2-ft.. Don't matter, I'm dogg'n it this spring.. Can you hold onto a beer after baiting your hook with a waterdog ?? The Daughter and S&L fished them a lot in the spring off their dock before the water ran away.. They did pretty good not knowing much about how to do it.. I may start a waterdog trail for Catfish and Grinnel.. | |||||||||

In a phone conversation I had with E this past Sunday he called me to just make sure he and I were good. Which I assured him we were, I may loose my temper on occasion but I rebound quickly and try to move on. Unfortunately Matt was the victim of that blowup recently and had to witness first hand one of my human faults. I can honestly say I have truly never been mad at E, he is like one of my kids. Eric told me that he would not be fishing any more of my events unless invited because he thinks he is running off anglers, that shows maturity and true concern and I appreciate it. Eric has the God given talant to be a top contender at a higher level and the passion that drives it. He is one of the best sight anglers I have ever been in the boat with. I have watched E mature a lot over the last 5 years, he still has a lot to learn but so do all of us. I think we often forget he is still just a teenager, 20 at best. I believe as Eric matures as a person and an angler that someday we will see him on the tour. He has the talent, drive and passion to win. I have encouraged him to move to the Rayburn-Toledo Bend area and put himself up against those sticks on a weekly basis. On those waters he will be able to hone his skills and build the reputation that will get him nationally recognized. I look forward to watching E make his way to the top levels of bass angling, he might well accomplish what I and some of you often dreamed of. Like said earlier he will reach out to help anyone, often to his own detriment. He has my support and the support of many others including I believe everyone on this forum. I can assure you with patience and guidence someday he will make us all very proud of him. Now get your tail down to Rayburn country E and get out of our tournament pots. lol | |||||||||

Mark.. Great post, we're all human.. Kay and I have special feelings for LIL "E" She thinks the world of that (boy) young man.. He's always polite and above board around her. He reminds her of our 19-yo Grandson, except he fishes.. Major Plus..
