But I was a pound short. Caught this smallmouth today on Lake Texoma. She showed 6.3 on my handheld scale. Since I was by myself I loaded up and went to the tackle box to get pictures and an official weight. Their scale had her at 5.96 lbs which was a little disappointing but this is by far by biggest and I will be getting my first replica so it is all good. She is back in the lake to fight another day. You know you can just give me a call Mike if you ever need any information. Yesterday was a challenge for the most part. I only had 5 smallmouth for the day and nothing else was real big. It was only the second time I've been out in 2012 so I mainly just wanted to go fishing. Have you had any replicas made before? I need suggestions on a taxidermist. Lake Fork Taxidermy.... The Pierce brothers will do a great job. They are the only ones I would consider for a replica. They did my 11 pounder and I am very happy with it. I have not had the boat out in 2012 yet. I really hope to remedy that this weekend but the predicted winds are not appealing at all. I figured the smallmouth would be up shallower right now and your post just added to my desire to go catch some of them. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
