For the last 6-weeks the Penson shallows have been real good for all species of fish.. You never knew what would hit from one fish to the next, that's a lot of fun.
However, this weekend the bite was off from what lil time I did get to chunk a lure or dunk a minner.
Had a visit with Mark Pack Saturday, ran into him at the Alba beer store. He said Friday in the big wind he and clients caught 2-over fish on C-rigs on points falling off into deepwater 12-20 foot on 5" inch LFT hyper sticks...

Guess I’ll have to get the boat out and get me some deepwater fish. Man I love to fish the deepwater, anyone can beat the bank, but not everyone can find or setup correctly on deep structure. It's much more rewarding for me to find a big school in 15-30+ foot that find a cove covered with bed fish.
That's just me though, I've seen Zeeter, Rmax and Derek bust'm up shallow big time, you know that was fun...

Rmax told me today he was catching some nice fish out deeper **IN THE WIND** Friday and Saturday.. Said the shallow bite was good early but quickly went south as the sun got up..

I haven't been in my boat since the RAM, a month has flown by..

We've caught em deep and shallow, shallow bite was real good Saturday early.. It died off relatively quick, but they hung around the area for good while.. Little later in the morning we stuck a good keeper in 10 ft while takin waves over the front, couldn't hold there long enough to fish it properly.. I marked a few on the way in to that spot out deeper, and we ended up stickin 2 slot fish out in 26 ft as we drifted across there.. So I guess alot of the bigger fish are moving deeper quickly.. I'm definitely ready to get off the bank, i keep trying but those bigger schools just don't seem to be there yet.. 15 ft has been pretty good though
