Look at Lewisville Saturday!!! Good night! 27 lbs. to win, 25 for 2nd, and you had to have over 20 to get a check. Glad I was out at Palestine, I haven't sniffed 20 lbs. on that lake yet! bwhahahaha! |

Great looking fish Tex. Well done I remember going out there for the 1st time in the mid 80's. I was just learning what a T-rig was and was being coached a bit by Ellis and Cliff Kirby who showed me the lake. They used to have the Lewisville Transmission shop back in the day. I bet some of you know those boyz. Anyways, Bonham was a little known puddle at that time and there was little or no pressure even on the weekends. I have not been out there in years. There used to be a lot of grass, especially past the bridge, but flooding turned it into a mudhole for a number if years. What does the water look like out there now? Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc

Water color seems to always be tea colored. There's plenty of cover but not much grass. It's mostly cattails, lilly pads and docks. The lilly pads have thinned out a lot over the past few years. Not sure why but it seemed to start after a pretty harsh drought. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

I have come to a conclusion that there is no other lake like Mother Fork! After 2 years of taking a break from it, Im about to pull my hair out. Grapevine has been good this year, but Lewisville is like figuring out Chinese Math! |
