Sounds like a plan.

We talking about renting a beach house or two for a weekend?

I am all over some trout & redfish, but I have to consider my wife and kids also. Dean, I may have to drop the kids off at your house for that weekend. :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

How about a fishing Marathon in Port Aransas. We could fish allday Saturday and then Charter an offshore trip that Evening. We could go down Friday and go to Sharkie's Friday night. :-)
Those of us at TRB are going back to PINS in June if anyone wants to join us.

that's right guys,, we're going down to Mansfield Cut June 10, 11,&12,,, I'm helping out with the planning ,, to tell the truth, I was appointed the Ramrod...... If you guys are serious,, keep in touch and we'll start getting it together.
We'll be fishing the surf along with wading the cut,,,, it'll be an opportunity to catch anything from a whiting to a Bull shark,,, with anything in between !!!!

Nope we ARE going to catch a Bull Shark and it is going to be at least 5ft. :-) I am sure these Eastland County Coons will taste real good to them. :-)

Maybe next week I'll have my boat back. If the weather holds warmer I want to go hunt the marshes for some specs - any one interested in going? I do not expect to catch anything but it is always fun to go.

For this summer - If we could get enough bay capable boats together I think we should look at July or August. Maybe the seas will lay up and we could venture out for some big fish!

Location - I know a little bit about Galveston but have an awfull lot to learn. I think our best bet is to see where the most familiarity of combined experience is. I do not want to camp out and judging by other conversations I think several of us do not want to camp - too sticky and sandy and salty and mosquitos and - not for me.

I do not know about Port Aransas or Port Oconner. I fished Port Oconner before and did OK but I typically do just as well in Galveston so I do not make the trip down there. Now that I have discovered off shore fishing I may have to reconsider, You can find deep water in close there!

Just Feedback - food for thought!

BB - Regarding the TRB trip - Are there any hotels/motels around there? Is this a beach fishing or boat fishing event? (or beer drinking event :-) )

Wade, The bigger trout are cought in the early spring. Last year Rebekah cought a 26 incher on live shrimp in March - but early spring fishing is more spurratic. I am willing to try any time though. Let me know when you want to try it!

I have only cought a few trout or reds on artificials (during the day time) - but never tried top water! I need to learn that! It must be a blast!

Dean,
Let me know when those big trout turn on and you need fishing partner. During spawn around here we Find trout in spring on shallow sandbars near deep water with clean water and lots of bait. I'll show you how to catch them on topwater! I'm off every Friday, Sat, and Sunday and always willing to travel.

Dean,
The TRB trip is a surf fishing extravaganza with a side of fermented beverage consumption. There are pleanty of vacancy's at the Coleman's. :-)
Here is a link to our trip last year.

Dean,, the TRB trip has no motel rooms,,, we hit the beach at the National Seashore and drive 60 miles to the Cut,,, We have the option to fish anywhere along the way.. Everyone brings a tent and a few fishing rigs,,,, We have a rip roaring time, some of the best eating and comaraderie you've ever experienced,,,,,
not to mention catching some fish !!!!

Howdy Mike! Fill the freezer with a few good cut baits before June. That will take the pressure off of the bait gathering duties in the first few hours. Our best night was the first night we got down there. The second night we all got pretty hammered and didn't fish :-)

Yes this one is.

I plan on going down before and after that though. I'll let you know when I go Sturm. Drifter is moving down to Corpus soon and he's going to be the eyes and ears for us up here in high country. We go when things are the best conditions for fish. Higher percentage action.
