Happy Holidays guys...... Its been a rough holiday week/end for us, as a few of you know I've been having some issues with my stomach for about a year now... Turns out the doctors I had been seeing misdiagnosed my symtoms gravely. I contacted one of my buddies thats a doctor in Dallas, and just so happens to have a house at Fork too an loves to fish. He helped Kay during her time of need, so I asked for his help on a second opinion. After they looked at the catscan, I was put into surgery quickly as possible this past Wed. Well they found a tumor on my small intestine, after further investigation turns out it's a rare and very hard to treat Lymfhoma Cancer. Lucky me huh !!! Yesterday they ran another Cat/Pet scan that showed no other tumors(thats the only bright spot) now we can treat it with Chemo in 3-4 weeks. This type of cancer can trap you under treatment, that's what makes it so hard to treat. If you kill it with Chemo it will open a hole in your intestine and you spill out into your body and get septic quick... So it can be a catch 22, thats why they need to treat me asap.. Anyway just an FYI for so many of you that have been so close to us for so long.. If you can spare some knee mail, I reckon we could use it.. | ||

Well its one day at a time, appointments with some T cell Lymphoma guys tomorrow. The most important thing is figuring out the correct cocktail mixture for the chemo treatment. If we nail that 1/2 the battle is won. Then the stem cell transplant will be the next big challenge, my body has to accept it back into my bones, and stay free of infection. If we can make it through all that SCHIT I might make a few more Christmas's. I'm a little scared to be honest.... | ||

That's awesome, thank you all. The Penson Springs bunch have got the yard covered. Thank you very much for the outstanding offer. Looks like, once this starts, 12- weeks of standard chemo 3 week intervals, stem cell removal, then heII comes for a visit, heavy chemo treatments 3-weeks straight in the hospital because my immune system is gone. Transplant the stem cells back, praying my body accepts them if it does I can leave the hospital an see if we killed the cancer 2-1/2 yrs is the bench mark, if I make that, I'm good. | ||

F cancer Billy. Best friend down the lake has gone through the chemo, bone marrow transplants and the stem cell treatments, he calls it gettin his oil changed. Attitude is key. He's the most positive dude I know. His biggetst problem is he still has good days and bad no immune system at all and he over does it on the good days. | ||

Man, being around all these hairless folks is depressing. Houston isn't as bad ad I remember it from the 80's. looks like I'm going to be accepted into the study, only 20 candidates this time for MD Anderson. It's going to take almost to Christmas to finish treatment. Thanks for the prayers and support fella's, it means a lot. They're running test today on me from 8 this morning until 9:00 pm tonight, makes for a heII of a long day. I'll see some of you boys at the Skeeter this weekend. Looking forward to it, I'll be down tomorrow. | ||

Just went through my first round of chemo here in Dallas. Our prayers were answered when they told us UT. Southwestern was footing the bill for the trials drug we seeked in Houston. Man, what a blessing. I can get the drug an treatment here at home now. I got to fish 3 days last week, had a great time caught some fantastic fish to be proud of. Even saw Zachary for brief second at the bucket launch. That's it for now, god bless you guys. | ||
