Man made brush piles.. I have always had the opinion that bigger is better... Not so much any more by the results I'm seeing on some spots I've made of late.. It seems that smaller size structure,* in greater numbers* are working better over larger - taller structure.. The shorter, easier to handle, place, and make are kicking the crud out of the larger piles by far.. jmo.. Of course placement(location) has some effect too.. |

I agree. It has been my experience that the lower more dense cover holds bass because that's where the bait will hide. All of our 10-12' tall piles on Sandlin hold crappie almost year round. |

I fish a lot of Brush piles and i mean a lot.. and I couldn't agree more. When fish stack up on a big brush pile it can be phenomenal, but you have to hit it at the right time, and maybe even fish it several times throughout the day.. while smaller piles tend to hold a few fish that will usually bite.. Some of my best brush pile areas are large brush piles that have smaller brush piles around them.. they are going to be on one of em.. |
