Met Rmax at the Academy in Arlington today, big pre-register sign up for the splash.. Not many people there to my suprise, normally we use that day to sign up too, but not this year. Round # 5 tomorrow, thought I'd better wait and see how I feel. Don't want to waste a large entry fee if I wimp out, my guess is we'll make all 3-days if I take it easy before hand. Any of you guys or gals going to suffer through it like us? I figure all the effort put into making them fish house's is worth a go at it if possible. Might not be a fish 1 on any of them, but hey, might be a couple worth a boat ride too.. Ya never know, I sure would love to see Kay boat her first DD and take it to the scales. Man, that would make my year right there, been praying for that a long time now.. | ||

I'm probably not going to fish it. I would consider it if the lake receives a significant amount of rain. I just don't think the private ramp I use will have enough water in front of it. No way am I gonna endure that traffic and ramp madness. | ||

Ozzy, you know why $$$$ about a 100K of them. RMAX is a great example of what can happen if you want it bad enough and lady luck is with you to some degree (and a good starting spot) LMAOOOOOO. The tournament used to frustrate me so bad.. Mainly because of the shear numbers of contestants, and LUCK. I would let that beat me down over the 3-days and quit trying as hard, big mistake, it's a win on 1-cast tournament. Anymore----I reflect back to Randy's winnings and figure if he can do it, heII anyone can do it. LOL.... To tell the truth Kay and I (mainly Kay) have done pretty dang good overal, you have too change your mind set for this event, you must remain calm, rise above the idiots and rude S.O.B.'s at every turn, and you shall prevail.... | ||

Yeah, if freaking RANDY can do it... Heck yes I can!! I may go shallow this tournament or deep I may even fish the bridges!! Oh HECK Yeah I said it the BRIDGES!! I may even fish really hung over at least one day!! I may eat enough RIBEYE that I get lazy and drag a C-rig around the Public Hump... LOL.... The advantage with having P.P. (plastic points) I don't have to "worry" about getting on my spots, atleast for the first day or two.. I've been staying off those areas, I exspect to have some fish pushed onto them with all the pressure the lake 's gonna get... But, if all else fails, which it can and has, I always have P.P. in Mustang to rely on. Ha Ha Ha Ha...... | ||

Slot city on the B/P's glad to see fish on the 4 locations we hit. I hung out at the house Friday, we got 4.5 inches of rain, nice... Had a blast on Sat, Kay caught an OVER on D/S blk worm, to bad it was a carp...LOL I have never boated so many fish between 16-17 inches in two days, amazing... WE did get a verbal on one fish we took in, just went over, I guess they felt sorry for us, me looking like a tanned Alien and all...Ha Ha Ha..... | ||

I had my chance on Sunday but it was not to be... Broke off a big fish on a DS in 25ft she never came to the top just stayed deep until my 10lbs test snapped. Oz, you need to go with 8-30 braid and a 15-lb berk 100% leader.. When it gets hot like this I some times jump it up to 17lb test.. They will not notice the bigger line an you'll land a lot more fish--especially the BIG fish JM2C's | ||

I do use the braid it was a 100% Berk 10lb leader that did me in... I used to use the 15lb when we had grass but switched to 10lb seemed like i got more bites...
